  1. Nice photos and some nice fishing. That cod looks very kelpy. Great colour to him. πŸ‘
  2. I suppose it depends how long the boat is and how long the kill cord is, but in principle you make a fair point.
  3. Top dangling that man! @GPSguru did mention on Whatsapp that you were out. Glad to see you had a busy session. Alderney retrieval always used to give me a squeaky bum even in the best of conditions so I reckon you made the right call in snotty weather and single-handed. No prizes for trying to be a hero out there πŸ‘ Good fish pics too. Shame you didn't get more dogs but I suppose you can't win 'em all. #somanydogfishsolittletime
  4. Great news! You must be pleased with that! Well done πŸ‘
  5. TouchΓ©! There seems to be a theme here. @Clinker, @headlight, @GPSguru, all scared off...
  6. Hi Kane, Welcome to the site. Nice freebie. Quite a project though going by your description. Good luck with it. How about starting a rebuild thread in the Project Boats section to keep us updated on your progress. As for what make/model she is... not sure. Looks familiar but I can't place her. Maybe a Shetland 535. Window configuration look the same, but the window shape on yours is more angular than the 535's unless yours is a very early example. Hull shape similar but not identical unless, again, yours is very early. Any idea what year/how old she might be?
  7. That's what you get for leaving fenders out.
  8. Good work Ivan. Sounds like a hard day's fishing bur at least you found the fish. πŸ‘ Were you on your own boat or on a charter?
  9. Good work! You must be pleased πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Looks perfect Jon - well done πŸ‘
  11. When I had an Orkney 440 with a 20hp Honda on the back I don't think I ever got more than about 12kts out of it. Something in my brain tells me that Orkney's are just a slower hull design but I have no evidence back that up. Try again without the 30kgs of stuff on board and see what happens. Also try opening any bungs to check the hull is truly dry. I emptied a load of rainwater from my Orkney that had gathered in the triangular voids either side of the bilge/fuel tank cubbyhole. The under-deck area was dry, but when I removed the first of the bilge pump fixing screws to replace the diaphragm a stream of water shot out.
  12. Good result there. Nice photos too. Hope the charter angler was OK in the end 🀞
  13. Nissan were saying it was a manufacturing error, but I daresay corrosion won't have helped either. Interesting that this sort of chassis damage occurs across manufacturers. Seems like an inherent design flaw... aided and abetted by the Great British Weather. Personally I blame Brexit 🫒😱🀣

Personally I find the joke to be excellent. Just a shame that @Odyssey shamelessly ripped it off from some one else... #jokestealer
  15. Oh dear.... πŸ˜₯ A mate of mine had something similar happen to his Nissan Navara. It was taken back and repaired by Nissan under some form of recall arrangement in the end as it turned out that a batch of Navara chassis had been auto-welded using too high a spark setting, making the welds brittle.
  16. What cracking photos! Sounds like a lovely way to spend the weekend. Boating with the wife, and catching fish too! Well done πŸ‘
  17. 😱 there's nothing good about a dogfish blank! 🀣
  18. Nice going @Malc. How accessible is the dredging spot? Reachable on your yak? You might find a large oily bait in draws in the fish that will be prospecting after the dredger turns over the sea floor.
  19. So you're transitioning? You'll have @JonC quivering with anticipation...
  20. Welcome Ralph. Torbay is a lovely spot to fish from, lucky you πŸ‘. We have a few yakkers on here, @Malc, @Davemc and @mike farrants so you'll be in good company. Will check out your YT.
