  1. Looking good Neil. Did you decide how you'll mount it yet? I've lost track - are you using that strut you bought or are you going for an arch?

OC, what sort of budget are you looking at? It might be that you can get a new base spec plotter depending on budget.

    Thank f#ck

First of the season, and in March! Can't beat that feeling - well dangled πŸ‘
  4. You mean like these? 😁
  5. Yep - I had to order fresh blacks instead of rag. Got some frozen too, plus I'll give @GPSguru's suggestion of frozen prawn a shot as well.
  6. I had planned to give Dave's Tackle a try for rag but it now looks like I'll be heading out very early on Sunday and won't be able to collect it, so I tried BaitsRUs and Solent Baits. However, both are out of stock for rag. Called them this morning. BaitsRUs said he'd had orders put in as far back as last weekend for Easter. Apparently rag are thin on the ground at present and with lots of pent up demand and short supply they've both sold out. So if anyone plans to use a local tackle shop then get your order in early.
  7. Ooh! That's fighting talk! 🀣🀣
  8. I'm hoping to be out over Easter too. Sunday morning looks promising - might have to do a mega-early start to get the best of the weather though. Chasing the plaice and will also test out my new slow jigging gear over Boulder Bank I reckon. I get my squid from my local tackle shop in Berkshire who, amazingly, keeps packets of dirty squid in stock despite being many miles from the sea. For worm you could try Dave's Tackle (http://www.davestackle.co.uk/) in Gosport. Not used him yet but he's local to my marina, so I'll be giving him a try shortly.
  9. Reckon it would be ok for a trailer boat though? Adam's boat probably won't be in the water for more than 12 hours at a time.
  10. As @andydavysays, a piece of sheet stainless would work well, and look more professional than a cut drum.
  11. And isn't it amazing how well he hides it?
  12. Looking good! He (and you) must be very pleased indeed!
  13. Tagging @Saintly Fish on this thread as he has experience of these engines I believe.
  14. Hi Adam, I'll leave it to the experts to advise on the right filler, but it may help them if you can confirm how you'll be using the boat. Am I right in thinking that your boat will be on a trailer, and not left in the water all season?
  15. Nice report @Maverick. Shame there weren't a few more fish about but at least it wasn't a blank πŸ‘
  16. I'm supposed to give at least 1 hours notice. I'm thinking of getting her put on a service rack on Monday/Tuesday to check her over & do some more stuff on board and I may just have them drop her into the drink before the weekend to get ahead of the crowd.
  17. I'm keeping my fingers, toes and everything else crossed for Friday. Weather looked ok, now it looks a bit too much, hoping it will blow through and more settled weather will arrive by then. I am fully gagging for a dangle but it would be just my luck to be blown out at the first opportunity.
  18. The weekend place doesn't have a deer fence. It has a pikey fence at 240v.
  19. I prefer not to get zapped when I wash my hands thanks... ⚑⚑
  20. Sounds like we need a camper van thread then. Care to do the honours?
  21. Ah no. This is a light for daytime. I'd need a nightlight for night time. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
