Fitting a FF is very simple, as is fitting a transducer. A few screws and a couple of wires basically. Shout when you're ready and we can talk you through it.

Shout if you need any help with new boat stuff. We've all been there and it can be a minefield of things to do and remember.
  3. Yep, always a win if it's not a blank. Well done πŸ‘ It's often the way isn't it. First cast fish turns into a bit of an average session. Same happens to us in the Wight area.

Welcome Nigel πŸ‘ Sevenoaks to Poole is a bit of a trek. How long does it take you each way? Post up some photos of your QS on the Show Us Yer Boat thread - we love a bit of good clean boat porn πŸ‘
  6. Bad luck Jon. You can lead a horse to water and all that... Makes you wonder what they think makes their microwave ovens work. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  7. Whilst I wholeheartedly agree that most of of seasoned boat owners are too stupid to worry... 🀣... I believe that this could be a barrier for the newbie boater to invest in a VHF if they have even more hoops to jump through. Let's face it, doing the VHF course is a faff, even if it is in fact very useful. A newbie owner may see the Ofcom guidelines as the straw that breaks the camel's back, without having the contextual knowledge that we all do that the guidelines are just guidelines, and they are unenforceable in practical terms. IMO Ofcom should be making it easier for boaters to stay safe, not harder.
  8. 🀣🀣🀣🀣 That is so gonna be Fishy's new avatar! I'll sneak it in when he's not looking 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣
  9. Fuck. Right. Off. 😭😭😭😭😭
  10. Sounds like fun Dino. Not jealous at all.... much.... 😭😭😭🀣
  11. So where are you heading this weekend then Neil? Seeing as you're asking about peelers I'm guessing you're hoping to chase smoothies in the Solent?
  12. Yes, me too. But the guidelines classify the "general public" as anyone who is not the spectrum user (VHF radio owner) or anyone employed by them (either directly or a subcontractor). So our friends would fall into the category of "general public" for the purposes of the guidelines. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  13. Yeah, but you got three more that are waiting to be installed.... 😢
  14. Well done. You must be gagging to get out now!
  15. And to take this one step further, any friends you have on board are classed as "general public" so they must stay 1.6m away from the aerial during transmissions... πŸ˜‰

  17. Quality post PH! Thanks for sharing! Very insightful πŸ‘
  18. Top report PH! Gutted for you for those missed fish but well done for getting out there. πŸ‘ Hopefully it won't be long before the rest of us can wet a line too.
