  1. Very sad news. RIP Captain Tom. 😪
  2. Very smart tub indeed! Thanks for sharing 👍
  3. Hi Steve, welcome. Plenty of good advice to be had on here and plenty of friendly mickey-taking too 😉 As @Saintly Fish says, there are a few of us on here that boat out of Pompey. From memory, @Second Bite is also in Haslar.
  4. Cos I'm saving them from you. They may not feel confident correcting a gobby Admin. 😉
  5. Re-read his post. He said we have a poor selection of that type of boat here. He didn't say that the boat was a poor selection. #shouldhavegonetospecsavers
  6. A wet session but a good session PH! Well done for persevering and getting out. I bet they were fun on the light gear 👍
  7. Amazing kit. Looks like fun too.
  8. Love and tenderness? Caressing? Stop it or you'll make yourself moist...
  9. Hi @Banjo2, I'm guessing there was supposed to be a picture or two with your post? Picture posting instructions here if you need them 👍
  10. Looks very nice! Is that your next upgrade then Neil?

    Warning

We don't need to try to tarnish your rep - you're doing a great job all on your own 😜

Go take a look at my comments in the Reports then wind your neck in... 🤣
  13. So I know that senko lures have a large following, and have been responsible for some great catches, but I just don't have confidence in them. I must have at least 5 different types of senko lure, each in various colours but I could never get on with them. I just didn't feel like they were "doing" anything in the water. I know, I know, before you say it, I know they're not supposed to vibrate or wiggle particularly, and that they work just as well on a dead drift as on a retrieve, but for me I just don't feel good about using them. Anyone else use senkos? If so, how did you get over the "not doing anything" feeling and how did you start to catch with them?

    🤣 ain't that the truth!
  15. Keep me posted on your progress with it. I bet it would work well in a noisy harbour mouth environment where lots of boat traffic would drown out a quieter lure.
  16. Looks like it has a rotating tail section? Reminds me a bit of a devon minnow. Could be good in murky water where the vibrations will give the bass something to home in on.
  17. Same techniques different marks Dave. I'd like to get out to the Overfalls and the French Bank this year (a bit far to paddle on a yak, TBF) and go for a big girl on a big lure - those 6oz heads with big bodies that I made up last year. I also need to get back to the shore for bass too. Still want to give those ned-rigged lures a proper work-out somewhere. So many options, so little time!
  18. For now Jon. But when this is all over that may not be so given the head start we've had with vaccinations.
  19. All good points Steve. I suspect that after this is all over history will judge the government more kindly than the commentators in the media.
  20. I was reading somewhere today that the UK vaccine roll-out seems to be leading the way - certainly the envy of pretty much everywhere else. I know that the government has come in for some bashing over how they've handled the Covid crisis in general, but at least they've got the vaccine roll-out mostly right so far.
  21. Harsh and unfair. I offered that up as ironic, not funny. #misunderstoodbyall
