  1. You fucker! 🀣🀣🀣
  2. Yes, I've exhausted all the dive photos and YT vids but there are very few images of the wrecks I fish, hence the idea of getting some tame eyeballs on the wrecks.
  3. Good foreplay but a disappointing climax. 5/10.
  4. My fancy gear won't tell me what species of fish are down there. Plus I'm just interested in the wrecks themselves. Good point on insurance.
  5. Made me chuckle πŸ‘
  6. Has anyone here ever taken divers out on their boat? If so, what's the deal, in particular with respect to liability if anything (or any one) goes tits up? I'm interested to know more about the wrecks in my area but I'm no diver, so I'd be up for taking a pair of divers out in exchange for some intel and photos of the wrecks but not if it means I would incur any liability if the worst should happen. Thoughts?
  7. Another great blog post Alan. Thanks for sharingπŸ‘ For those that haven't clicked, it's well worth a read.
  8. I've always been told that solder is too brittle and can crack, causing issues?
  9. I've never done it, but in theory it's just a couple of connections at either end of each strand of the cable. If you try it, make sure you match the cable strand gauges and use the best waterproof connectors you can.
  10. Watching with interest. Keep us posted on how you get on with it please Luke. πŸ‘
  11. Well done for getting out. πŸ‘
  12. What a lovely fish!! Very nice to see. Well dangled Dicky πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. You'll get gratitude when you answer the original question 🧐

  15. Never taken one over the top, so I don't know. The aft bilge pump is a Rule item that pumps 800 gallons/3000 litres per hour, and the forward pump would probably kick in too if it was really bad, but again, I'm unlikely to ever be out in risky conditions. I'll look into how easy (or difficult) it might be to get scuppers fitted through a twin skinned hull, but it's a low priority.
  16. Awesome! Thanks Jon - knew I could count on you πŸ‘
  17. Slugs were your idea buddy; the credit's all yours. I'm offering to spare you a blank - you should be thanking me, not getting all huffy πŸ’‹
  18. About 4 weeks ago. And yes, whilst it's been wet it hasn't been biblical. Now you mention it, I have an idea that it may be the forward bilge pump (Whale Supersub) which I caught not switching off once, and had to pull the fuse to get it to stop. It has an auto-sensing switch which didn't cut out when dry. If it had been running on then it could easily have drained the battery. Probably worth replacing the pump just to be sure.
  19. Agree, but that's not a job for now. And let's face it, I'm a fair weather angler and I'm very unlikely to go out or be caught out in the sort of conditions that would make fitting scuppers worthwhile. Plus I don't know if the deck is above the water line.
  20. You fetch the slugs, and I'll go blanking with them πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
  21. So... about this solar charger then... no recommendations anyone?
