  1. Ok Mr Potato Head, feel free to post up your own chip-making efforts then so we can all learn from you 🥔 🦰

No need to clamp down on me - the terminal gag was new! 😉
  3. This is a favourite with our kids who prefer the higher ratio of batter to fish that nuggets offer compared with a battered fillet. You will need: 2-3 whiting 1 can Brewdog Punk IPA 3 tablespoons plain flour 3 tablespoons cornflour 500ml groundnut oil Seasoning First, make up the batter. Pour the flour and cornflour into a large bowl and whisk to aerate. Then season with S&P to taste. Add enough Punk IPA to give the consistency of thick emulsion, between one third and half a can. Whisk well. Leave the batter to stand for 10 mins or so, and in the meantime fill a shallow pan to 1/3rd full with ground nut oil. Bring to a low-medium heat, around gas mark 3. Slice your whiting fillets into chunks about 3 or 4cm square and mix into the batter. Fry for around 1 minute, maybe a little more if your whiting chunks are on the large side, then drain and serve, seasoned with S&P. Of course I like to check the quality of my cooking before serving to the kids, so here's a gratuitous greasy finger shot... 😜

I hate to be negative, but these jokes are terminal-ly bad. You all should be grounded.
  5. Great write-up as usual Alan 👍. Shame the target species didn't come to you but as they say, that's fishing.

Agreed. There must be amp-le opportunities left.

Ohm my god, I can't believe we're still doing this! Watt's going on?
  8. I have a lot of time for the Ugly Stiks 👍
  9. My last boat purchases were a couple of weeks ago. Bought a BEP 6 gang switch panel, a Lowrance Point 1 GPS & electronic compass module, and a stainless VHF aerial mount. Also have a Suzuki engine data harness on order so I can get all the engine data to display on the old HDS8 in my dash.

It's his sunny disposition that does it.

Wonder why his jokes get given such a frosty reception...

@Odysseymust think we're giving his jokes the cold shoulder...
  13. Sorry to hear that. What a pain! 😭
  14. The MXL and the LX ranges have roughly the same width spool as the TLD20, at 1 7/8" and 2 1/4" respectively, vs the TLD's 2". I haven't seen a comparison chart for the full range but if you take a look at Rokmax's site and click the Specification option for each reel it shows the dimensions of each model. You can then compare these with the Saltist/Slosh/TLD stats.
  15. Good suggestion. I'll give the bag and stone trick a try. I'm currently using a milk bottle with frozen chum in it, on a weighted line, but this catches the tide and often ends up down tide of our hookbaits.
  16. I've heard some folks use Halibut pellets (groundbait and hook bait nuggets used by carp anglers) in their groundbait mixes for sea angling. Anyone tried this?
  17. Oi! He made me go to see it, and he made me buy it! I'm the victim in this... 🤣🤣
  18. Yep, on a serious note we do need to sort a pot stirring emoji.
  19. Hi Shaun, good to have you on the forum. Lovely looking boat! What engine does it have?
  20. I didn't need to find it. I had my flunky do the leg work.
  21. Oh god... Here we go again...
  22. Thanks Gary. She's a keeper. 👍
