  1. Whilst I agree that it's worth pursuing to ensure the truth is known, tread cautiously. Nick has proven himself to ban first and ask questions later.
  2. That is very bad. Why, if the reel has been misrepresented, do they (does he) need to shut down the thread? Makes no sense to me.
  3. Lol. No need to ban(tam) anyone.
  4. But Jon... this is the thread that keeps on giving. 🤣
  5. Don't mind him, he's just fishing for commission... 🎣💵
  6. @Peachey, that's a tall order. Only thing I can think of would be an inflatable that could be carried out at lows to find enough water to launch from. If it's only for a few hours at a time then although it would be a squeeze for three I'm guessing you all could put up with it?
  7. Haven't seen Jeff on here for a while. Give him a nudge 😉👍
  8. This is true. I kept my first boat for just 9 months before upgrading. If only the newbies heeded the advice of the old hands eh? 😉
  9. If it were me I'd always go for the most I could afford at the time. It's a false economy to go for a cheaper boat that needs some work as you'll quickly eat up your leftover budget fixing stuff, and you could have been fishing on the good boat in the meantime.
  10. Here are a couple.of suggestions to get us going. https://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/Fishing-Boats-for-sale/explorer-elite-16ft/329749 https://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/Fishing-Boats-for-sale/predator-165-pro-angler/332739
  11. @Jon cook is looking for a new boat. Budget of £10k. We're not sure if it needs to be a trailer sailor or marina queen, GRP or rib, so unless he tells us otherwise let's assume that anything goes for now. What suggestions can the Outlaws offer then?
  12. As it happens Luke that brings me onto another question. Is there much point only having an AIS receiver? Surely it must be smarter to have a transponder so we can be seen as well as see?
  13. Hello Peachey, and welcome to Offshore Outlaws! I have a Predator 165 and I'm inclined to agree with you - it can fish two brilliantly, but three would be a squeeze. As for the rest of your requirements - you'll likely need to make some compromises/trade offs. For example, a boat that can fish 3 in comfort will be larger, therefore heavier, therefore less suitable for trailing and slower, unless you go for a bigger engine, which means more initial outlay, bigger fuel bills etc etc. How often would all three of you be fishing? If it's only occasionally, you might find a 165-style boat would fit the bill more often than not. Give us an idea of frequency and estimated budget and we can better advise. Off the top of my head I'd say a Raider would suit you, but these are heavier to move around on a trailer. One of the guys at my boat club recently sold his Raider as it was too heavy for him to manoeuvre single-handedly when getting it to the slipway from his yard space. Whereabouts are you launching from? I'm at ECA in Langstone Harbour and can give you some pointers on beach launching if necessary.
  14. You know me too well Neil. My inner geek is already writing the cheque but my sceptical side is weighing up the pros and cons.
  15. I've never had radar fitted to any of my boats. As a recreational angler I have only been caught out by fog once and I was able to follow my track back home safely. Given that I'm only able to get out perhaps 2-3 times per month at best, what do the Outlaws think about the return on investment for radar on a recreational angling boat? It seems a lot of money for something that may not get used much at all. Thoughts?
  16. So what's the latest on your thread over there then? Us "non-members" can't see the Chatter thread as "guests".

    Christmas

Ok, fair's fair. That one actually made me chuckle. 6/10 and a Merry Christmas to you.
  18. You need to copy the link address, not the link text. Open the photo on your Flickr, then (on mobile) tap and hold the image, then select Copy Image Address. On computer, it'll be right click, then select Copy Link address (or similar)
  19. That's a cute little bottle of fun right there! 👍👍
