  1. Are you opening the Homeport installer each time instead of the Homeport .exe file itself?
  2. We actually use our old BT router as our main Wifi router, and our Gigaclear router as a modem. I'd suggest any standalone wifi router will probably be fine.
  3. Yep, it certainly brought back memories Dave! But I just couldn't face the hike 😡
  4. Well played despite the outcome. Kudos for getting out there in shit weather πŸ‘
  5. +1 for @GPSguru, I'm sure he'll be able to see you right. πŸ‘
  6. I'm saying this through gritted teeth but well done. I was so hoping for you to blank two nights in a row πŸ€£πŸ‘
  7. Pffft! You've used that excuse once before Geoff. I'm not buying it! πŸ˜‰ Besides, you do have lights in other rooms... right??
  8. Floundeting eh? Guess you've been taking lessons from Pete too Geoff! Love ya Pete πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
  9. Well, you'll definitely blank in a farmer's field. Keep going!
  10. Well, at least the thunderstorms that were forecast seem to have dissipated 🌩🌩 Which just leaves falling trees and flash flooding I suppose, so don't forget your hard hat and your snorkel πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜
  11. I've not considered them, but I just don't see them to be as effective as a plume of smoke and a PLB.
  12. Cos we ran out of anchovy, and you wouldn't have noticed had it not wriggled 🀭
  13. Great write-up PH πŸ‘ Shame about the lack of cod (I know exactly how that feels!) but well done for getting out at least 🎣
  14. Or even any other vessel that is close enough to assist but that doesn't have PLB tracking kit.
  15. Sure, but once they're close enough for their crew to start using the Mk 1 Eyeball a smoke flare will help them to pinpoint you in a snotty sea.
  16. Not sure yet. I already have a PLB permanently strapped to my lifejacket so I don't feel the need for them necessarily, but having a smoke flare to hand if I have to abandon ship for whatever reason would make it so much easier for rescuers to locate me once they're on the scene, even with the PLB activated. Every second counts in the water.
  17. Always up for it but its home-made pizza night tonight and I'm the pizza chef (just call me Luigi!) so I would be in the doghouse if I left everyone hungry in order to go fishing 😀🀣
  18. Do it! River could be well coloured with all this rain we're having... feeding trigger for fish? Bugs and worms washed into the river etc?
  19. 🀣 Yep, it's a poor substitute for boat angling, but when it's too rough to get afloat at least it scratches the itch...
  20. Thanks all. It was good to be out, even if the fish were a bit thin on the ground. It was quite busy on the shingle with anglers every 50 yards from the bridge to the elbow. We didn't see or hear of anyone else catching anything good, but when we left around 10.30pm there were still plenty of anglers trying their luck. @JonC, you'll be pleased to know there were no bird-nests, crack offs or tackle losses this time. πŸ‘πŸ˜
  21. Well, two dogfish and a pin whiting was my lot tonight. Not the worlds best session but then again, at least I didn't blank... eh, Fishy πŸ˜‰
  22. Just missed a whopping bite. Proper pull down. Took the butt off the shingle... Also had dogfish #2. Neil is still blanking so far... 😁
