  1. Sorry Adam. I'm drawing a blank on this. I've got as far as it being a 60F 6H2 engine of some description but your serial plate doesn't match any of the usual Yamaha configurations online. They usually have the serial number in the uppermost white box. I can't work out whether the 1998 is a year or a 4 digit serial number.

Have a look here for an example: https://www.perfprotech.com/blog/yamaha-outboards/yamaha-outboard-serial-number-location-and-model-identification

You could also spend some time going through the permutations on the Yamaha publications site here: https://www.yamahapubs.com/. I had a quick look and they  list three different types of 2 stroke 60hp outboard model made in 1998, none of which seem to relate to a 60F engine. Not sure if any of them matches your engine though.

Actually Andy, I personally prefer XP to any of the modern OS. I use it all the time to run my CADCAM drawings for my CNC router. For years people on the router forum have been saying that XP is the most stable system. Geoff.☺️

I can't criticise... I was using the Command Prompt for stitching MP3's together last week... it's the most reliable way to do it that doesn't involve uploading your files to some random site.

Madness came from Port Hamble so yes that is doable but where will everybody else be meeting and would there be a social side

The intent is to have a social side... if we're allowed given whatever Covid restrictions might still be in force by then. Fingers crossed we can all get together over a beer, but there is the possibility that we might simply have to agree a mark to anchor up on en masse and have a socially distanced dangle. We'll know nearer the time and confirm plans as appropriate.

You weren't far from us, I was out on a friends boat.  Lumpy as you say at first, quiet on the fish front with a nice double undulate the notable fish amongst straps and Whiting

Any chance of a catch report Scott? 😉

  5. Welcome to the Outlaws!

Don't mind Saintly - he's grumpy today for some reason. What I think he meant to ask was to tell us a bit about yourself. What kind of fishing are you into? What species, techniques etc. How long have you been boating for etc.

Glad you like the site - it's fresh out of the box and we're still building it, so bear with us if we don't always get it right first time. Feel free to take a look around and contribute where you can.

    Tight lines!

Surely you must almost be there by now then ?

Ok, I think we need a facepalm option under the "Like" menu as that's the second time today I've caught you making a "Dad" joke, and it's even worse than the first! 1/10 at best - go stand in the corner and think about what you've done... 🤦‍♂️

  7. Welcome to Offshore Outlaws! Good to have you with us. Your username seems familiar - guessing you were on the dark side previously too? 😉

Orkney boats are well thought of. Good choice. Post up some pics in the "Show us yer boat" thread so we can all admire her 👍

Edit: Swampy beat me to it 😄 We do love a good boat pic!

hi what is the price of your boat?cheers.👍

Hi there Anthony. Welcome to Offshore Outlaws! Did Wayne send you here by any chance?

    Some info about the boat:

    • Full service history and I'm the second owner from new.
    • Factory fitted Suzuki DF80 outboard - this is the largest horsepower outboard for the hull design.
    • She has nearly every factory extra added (stainless rails, stainless bait table, stainless boarding ladder, towing eyes for water toys, rod racks, stainless nav light arch, rear bench seat, seat cushions (unused); in fact all bar the auxiliary engine mount) and sits on her own trailer.
    • Comes with an Elite Ti-7 plotter/fishfinder, with a full UK C-Map chart and a TotalScan side-scan/down-scan transducer.
    • Fixed VHF which connects via NMEA0183 to the plotter to enable GPS location for DSC messaging/emergencies.
    • Twin batteries, with charging managed by a Blue Sea charge controller, with a 1-2-OFF battery switch.
    • 5kg bruce anchor, 5m of chain and 70m of octoplait anchor rode.
    • Twin 30 litre fuel tanks and one 25 litre fuel tank, all with Suzuki dry-break fuel line connectors.

Her last service was in May 2020 and she had 97 hours and 15 minutes recorded. This will have increased since then but not significantly. She's in the same club that Wayne keeps his boat in, in Portsmouth, and is available for inspection and sea trials.

I've not advertised her for sale anywhere yet but I'd be looking for somewhere in the region of £14k.
