They're exactly that - smilies. Curious that you're not able to see them though. What browser are you using? And what version thereof?

I still do not understand the little rectangles!!! Geoff.☺️
What are these rectangles Geoff? Can you post up a screenshot?

I've just ordered another batch of OO stickers for boats/tackle boxes etc, due for delivery in about a weeks time. If anyone's interested then this batch will work out at about £3 per sticker. Post up if you're interested in having one.

Sounds like an exciting project. Post up some pics on the "Show us yer boat" thread, and perhaps start a thread so we can see how the rebuild goes?
Oh, and welcome to Offshore Outlaws! Good to have you with us 👍

These are the forerunners of the Pirate 21 right? I don't have any first-hand knowledge of them but I have admired them for a while.
Yours doesn't happen to be the one from Langstone that was advertised online recently, does it?

Another "Dad" joke! But better than Fishy's effort. 3/10 for that Steve.

It took me about 45 years to get through all those boats but apparently Neil got through that many in a month
🤣🤣🤣 so true!

A useful tip about using a hole saw. If you need to cut a hole near an old hole such that it is impossible to use a pilot hole as a centre. Cut a holesaw hole in a piece of ply and use a temporary means to fix the ply hole template to where you need the hole. Use the holesaw without the pilot drill. The holesaw will run in the hole in the ply and cut the hole where you want it. I was looking for a reason to post something as I would like to know what the little rectangles (smilies) are and how to access them. Geoff.☺️
Top tip Geoff 👍

I seem to remember you turning your nose up to them when we were all out trying to find your new boat for you !
Possibly. But then I turned my nose up at 99.9% of your suggestions didn't I 🤣

Who's Tim? And what's he doing on your shelf??

Looks very nice Scott. How is the cabin laid out? I'm not familiar with the MF Marlins.

When I fitted flush mounts into my gunwales it was a pain as they are wooden, about an inch thick so I needed to cut the core at an angle to match the incline of the holder tube.
I can see how that would have been a pain to do, and would have been easy to bugger up the cut.

As the title says, why did you get into boating?
For me it was the desire to get to better marks for fishing. I consider myself an angler first, boater second - the boat was a means to catch more fish... if only it actually worked out that way in reality 😪 #whatablanker...
What about you?
-
Welcome Scott - post up a pic of your MF in the "Show us yer boat" thread. 👍

Welcome. Watch out for the guy with the overgrown speedboat on your stack, and for fk sake don’t lend him any tools, especially drill bits as he will just break them
He's already found me Jon, and yeah, the drill bit was a bit shit. Must try harder next time.

I was out on Sunday blanking at St Cats Deep, and on the way I stopped at a couple of wrecks to continue refining the transducer set up on Jersey Girl. I need to tweak the angle of the Active Imaging transducer as it loses bottom over about 10 kts. But it works fine below this. Below is the Camswan again - best image clarity yet.
Conditions were pretty calm so there is minimal disruption of the image due to wave action.
I also buzzed over the Highland Brigade - below is what she looks like at 18kts. For those that don't know, she's quite a large wreck - I found it interesting that she's relegated to a relatively small blob of structure at speed (image is a function of speed/time on fishfinders) - she'd be easy to miss, so it's always worth scouting an area at slow speed to pick up the wreck/reef/feature more clearly on the finder.

Cracking images Andy,
I've got a Totalscan which can be pretty good but images are nothing like those
Thanks Scott. I'm just about to post up an even better image of Camswan that I took on the weekend.

It's quick then! Looks like a nice boat.
I notice you have doel fins fitted. Do you find it helps to get on the plane?

Made me chuckle. You can have 7 out of 10 for that one. 😄
Electrical Tools

Just to add to @suzook12's post on Electrical tools, you really do get what you pay for. I've had two different crimpers at the cheap end of the spectrum and both times they've started to bend out of shape at the hinge pin when crimping firmly. On one of them the jaws started to open up so that they would never meet properly when closed. Buyer beware!
