  1. I used to be a member as a perk of being a marina member. Didn't need to use them but it's comforting knowing they are there.

That said, I quickly got bored of staying within 3 miles so you may find that as your confidence grows you'll spend more and more time outside of the 3 mile limit. And as a point of principle they're no substitute for maintaining your engine well and being self-sufficient.

  2. Hi Murray, welcome aboard.

When did the cooling issues first start, and did they come on suddenly or have they been getting worse gradually?

What makes you suspect belt slippage or impeller not pumping?

Could it be the heat exchanger has got salted/crusted up and isn't passing enough raw water through it to cool the engine?

Revisiting this; how is it going so far?

For me I have mostly done the "local" species, cod, coalie, pout dab, whiting, dogfish, lesser sandeel, but not ling or pollock yet. Outside of the competition we hope to get TBR, tope, huss and smooth hound when we go over to the west coast of Scotland.

    You've done well. Good catching.

I know nothing of these boats Steve, but a quick google brings up a few pics, and it's not a boat I'd want to go fishing in unless on a clam lake. They have no depth to them internally by the look of it, so standing up and fighting a whiting could prove to be a danger?
I used to own a 19ft fletcher speed boat and the hull looks a similar shape, so I have no doubt that they will go and handle well, punching well above their weight. But a fishing boat it wasn't!

Even those clam lakes can be dangerous if a clam grabs you - they don't let go!

  5. That's why you need to rotate them on your phone and resave them, rather than your laptop. The original files will have metadata telling the website which way up to render them, based on which way up your phone was when the pics were taken.
