It sounds like the sort of job where you'd want as much working room as possible, which would steer me to taking the engine right out. If you left the engine in but lifted wouldn't it have to remain lifted while the glass hardened?

Can't comment on whether it's worth the upgrade as it depends on what you need out of an operating system, but TBH software as a service (subscriptions per month/year etc) is the direction the industry has been moving in for a few years now, and I don't see it going back to a one-off payment model. On the upside, you'll get free upgrades and all the latest security patches delivered seamlessly. In this day and age of cyber security, it's worth every penny in my view. For context, we have an "as a service" model for Offshore Outlaws - upgrades and enhancements every few weeks for a monthly fee, and the provider takes care of all the boring stuff like load-balancing, security, spam-prevention and system availability, which means the three of us have more time for posting inane drivel on here... what's not to like?! 🤷‍♂️🤣

I also have a Lowrance VHF with FM/AM tuner built in, plus a VHF/FM splitter to the aerial. TBH... I never bother with FM radio.

I only have the Sonic Hub 1, but it does me just fine with USB connectivity. I have a USB stick connected to it with gigabytes of MP3 music on it. TBH you're probably smarter just to download and store your favourite tunes offline rather than rely on DAB or mobile connectivity for Spotify.

Agreed. Movement is the received wisdom, but I wonder if there may be other ways too. Would love to see some of your water wolf footage. I've been trying to get some underwater shots with a GoPro, but my mounting rig needs more work. Don't think you can buy water wolf cameras any longer?

Yet another reason why dogfish are the greatest! Being barn door bait is no bad thing in the grand scheme of things.

Agreed, but I also know that many anglers catch them at anchor, including me - a plaice turned up for me on a worm bait on a mark not known for them a few seasons ago.
