Very nice effort @Josh. Well done to you both!
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60091753 🤷‍♂️🤣
  3. Whereas I have no such qualms. #itsawhiting
  4. As long as it's closer to 3mm than 2mm it should be fine. I guesstimated my original measurement as 4/5ths between 2mm and 3mm on a plastic ruler, hence 2.8mm 🤣
  5. My apologies, I appear to have erroneously credited you with taste and sophistication: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ
  6. That's cos it is funny Pete! 👍
  7. Well done Mike - knew I could count on you 👍🤣
  8. Jeez - did you two get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning? 😕
  9. Last week, we took some friends out to a new restaurant, and noticed that the waiter who took our order carried a spoon in his shirt pocket. It seemed a little strange. When the next waiter brought our water and cutlery, I noticed he also had a spoon in his shirt pocket. Then I looked around and saw that all the staff had spoons in their pockets. When the waiter came back to serve our soup I asked, "Why the spoon?" "Well, "he explained, "the restaurant’s owners hired Andersen Consulting to revamp all our processes. After several months of analysis, they concluded that the spoon was the most frequently dropped piece of cutlery. It represents a drop frequency of approximately 3 spoons per table per hour. If our staff are better prepared, we can reduce the number of trips back to the kitchen and save 15 man-hours per shift." As luck would have it, I dropped my spoon and he was able to replace it with his spare. "I’ll get another spoon next time I go to the kitchen instead of making an extra trip to get it right now." I was impressed.I also noticed that there was a string hanging out of the waiter’s zip on his trousers. Looking around, I noticed that all the waiters had the same string hanging from their flies. So before he walked off, I asked the waiter, "Excuse me, but can you tell me why you have that string right there?""Oh, certainly!" Then he lowered his voice. "Not everyone is so observant. That consulting firm I mentioned also found out that we can save time in the rest-room. By tying this string to the tip of you know what, we can pull it out without touching it and eliminate the need to wash our hands, shortening the time spent in the rest-room by 76.39 per cent."I asked "After you get it out, how do you put it back?""Well," he whispered, "I don’t know about the others, but I use the spoon."

They also offer meat and potato pie for £2, or two for £3. Their apple pies and cherry pies are often sold for £2.75, or two (any combination) for £4.75.Those are the Pie Rates of the Caribbean.
  11. What for? Looking at random videos that people post on the web? No thank you.
  12. Cos Neil has a FB account, obvs. For his business.
  13. That's not much good for those of us without a FB account Jon... 🤦‍♂️
  14. Nope, sorry all. Mrs135 does the lion's share of childcare duties in our house, and it's the least I can do to make Mother's Day feel special for her. Changing the Mother's Day date just won't cut it. Sure, she'd say she's ok with me spending all weekend away, but I know she'd secretly be quite hurt.
  15. Yep. In all seriousness I won't go if it's Mothers Day. Happy for someone to take my place or I'll cover the cost if no-one else can go either.
  16. Storming gameweek for you @mike farrants, and also @suzook12 and @JonC too. High scoring teams!
  17. I agree, although it seems that the manufacturer is mugging off the retailer as he couldn't even get a response from Pure Fishing after a week of emailing. I've decided life's too short to get worked up about it, so I'll take the partial refund and go fishing...
  18. Weekend weather looks spotless on the south coast. 2's, 3's and 4's on Sunday 🤞🤞
  19. An update to this thread. I recieved the below from the retailer in respect of my question whether Ugly Stik blanks had changed. "It appears to be a running change possibly to increase sensitivity. These kind of decisions would probably be made in the US, as Shakespeare are just one of the brands that make up a much bigger company called Pure Fishing, and the EU/UK side of the business may not even have been consulted or informed. The US market will dictate the way rods are designed or developed, as this is by far their biggest market unfortunately." When I ordered the new rod I was expecting the same blank as my exisiting 20/30lb rod, which I didn't receive. The action isn't the same, irrespective of what has been said about increased sensitivity. The retailer has agreed to a small discount instead of me going to the hassle of packing and returning the rod, which I've accepted. I'll chalk this up as one of the disadvantages of using an online store where we can't waggle a rod before buying, and I'll simply use it as an intermediate between a 12/20 and a true 20/30. So, if anyone has a 20/30lb Ugly Stik with a 2.8mm diameter tip in good condition, I have cash waiting 😉
  20. 8/10 for that! Most chuckleworthy.
  21. Very nice result Dicky. Well done. Envious of your codling 👍
  22. Suspect it's better now though Pete.
