Top dangling Mick. Nice fish 👍

It wad a great day out. @Odyssey's bacon butties were spot on, he organised amazing weather for us and even convinced the fish to be where he wanted them to be. Top skippering 👍

Slow pitch jigging trip hosted by @Odyssey, with @jonnyswamp , @daio web, @Saintly Fish, @JonC and I.
TLDR: Weather good, banter good, fishing good, propeller not so good (it broke).
Species tally: pollack, cod, coalfish, cuckoo wrasse, launce, greater weever and a massive starfish, all taken on jigs.

Great result! That ballan looks lovely. Well done 👍
We're out with @Odyssey tomorrow and Sunday, so hoping for more like you had today 🤞.

I've used the small shanked ones like @mike farrants posted above, but I've also used, and more successfully, regular Aberdeen patterns in smaller sizes. The longer shanks allow them to be penneled and it's always the tail hook that gets the fish. The top hook just acts a bait holder. Also means you hook more fish as the "bait-nippers" get hooked as well as the "whole swallowers"

Lure rod. Two hook flapper rig with floating beads on the snoods. Size 4 pennel hooks. Long thin strips of squid or mackerel belly skin. Bounce the gear off the bottom as you drift. You'll know when you've hooked one. Brilliant sport on light gear.
Have a read of this too:

Top work Leon and ACSA members 👍 Haven't heard from you in a while so it's great to see you've all been busy catching lots of very nice fish! Well done!

yes, right now I can understand that.
The disco sport only has 36k on it, so the pump should never have failed.
I think I will go back to Volvo once the disco is fixed, maybe a V60, as the V90 is way too big.
Only 36k? I think I'd be spitting blue feathers if that had happened to me. Commiserations.

Hoping to get out tomorrow, but I will be solo as Kyle is ill ( has developed UC the same as me).
Boat hasn't moved for 3 months (last time out was Jan 15th ) mainly due to the weather, but I have also been fitting a new kitchen that turned into a bigger job ( had to take the walls back to brick and remove the ceiling) and also have had a nightmare with my disco sport ( fuel pump failure, 6 to 9 months for a new part, but LR are now seeing sense and hopefully will sort me out with a loan car next week.
Just getting the boat ready, both batteries are fine and it started on the button. Just the rods to load and top up the tubes. I wont be going far tomorrow, maybe try for a few fresh mack and give the inshore wrecks a drift or two.
Bad luck with the Disco. After my D2 I swore never again...

For now at least, I know you need the free time to finish your boat so haven;t mentioned it, don't want lord 135 to start commissioning work of his estate 😁
Don't want to give @Geoff any more excuses not to finish his boat.

I’m back in Monday, soon be back on those fish. If inshore is fishing well, Offshore should be just as good 😁
I think it's fair to say a fair few of us are hoping against hope for a break in the weather... #nopressure #desperateforadangle
