  1. Yeah, I wondered about the textured finish, but as you say, it could well have been left over from repainting.
  2. Good scrubbing. Looks like it came out nicely. Why would anyone want to use masonry paint on GRP in the first place? The mind boggles.
  3. Eastney beach in a 60mph gale?! Surprised your leads didn't sail back past your head on the cast! Did you catch anything?
  4. Thinking of a shore session when the wind speed is too high/uncomfortable for the boat. But how much is too much? The mark I have in mind (Hurst shingle bank) would/should fish well with an onshore blow but not sure whether it'd be fishable or not with 13-15mph winds. What's the limit for your marks?
  5. And painted...? Does it look & smell like fresh paint? Not saying it isn't yours, but it does seem unnecessary of them to have painted it.
  6. Is it actually your pump refurbed, or did they send you an exchanged unit?
  7. Nice quick turnaround. It'll be in the bilge where you won't be looking at it so if it were me I'd fit it and forget about it.
  8. Good work Jon, you are clearly on the path to enlightenment. 😉👍
  9. In which case, you have the patience of a saint...
  10. Yes, but there's no helping you is there 😉
  11. Instructions for posting pics and vids here: Shout if you get stuck and we'll see you right 👍
  12. Welcome Willy. Those 175's are great boats. Do you have any pics of her to share? Bet she flies with a 140 on the back! Sounds like she's well travelled too - good on you for getting the miles in. 👍 One of our members, @Josh, trails his 165 to Fowey fairly frequently and does well on the big stuff. Check out some of his reports for details.
  13. @Saintly Fish, think I've just found why they all like holding their rods in their left hands...

Great work Jon and Georgia! Keep us posted 👍
  18. I think you'll find it's your hand eye (typing) coordination that ain't up to much Jon.... guessing you were trying to say "without" throwing it in the drink. Which is a bit rich seeing as I have never dropped a rod off my boat. #getyourfactsright #eggonface
  19. Yep, me too. Rod in (dominant) right hand and wind with left. Anyone else is just a wrong 'un.
  20. Yeah I see what you're saying. They've used a right handed casting for the left handed version (saving costs). Were you expecting to receive a leftie? I don't think the thumb rest is really a problem. At least, I don't use them. I tend to rest my thumb on the spool or the lower cross bar of the reel. When do you find the thumb rest useful?
  21. You have safe access to the bow so a lazy line is less necessary, but you might still find it useful or convenient for mooring as you can use a lazy line from the helm position, whereas you have to leave the helm (and therefore have no control of the boat) when accessing a mooring buoy through the hatch.
  22. Yep, as Neil says, upload it to YouTube then embed it into a post. Instructions here:
