So I picked up the refurbed turbo this morning..
it looks pretty good to me...
 

 
so after parting with £680 + vat, I headed down to the boat to start to fit it on..
 

 
4 hours later and an achy back, I’m all connected back up. 
just the coolant to re fill tomorrow and then run her up to see how good a job the turbo shop (and me) have done ! 😬

Hello everybody, forum friends old and new. I have at last managed to get here (4 days and 3 laptops later). The new forum looks good so far, so well done admin. Geoff.☺️

The old ball and chain likes hers either filleted and skined, with salt and pepper,  garlic, butter and dark soy. Foil wrapped lightly and in an oven at 160 / 170 for 20 - 25 minutes depending on size of fillets. 
The other method is head and tailed foil wrap with salt and pepper, garlic, ginger drizzled with olive oil.. depending on the size of fish rough guide being 160 for 40 minutes.

Another vote for the Ugly Stik GX2's 👍

The first thing I noticed about it was how smooth its was. It increased my casting distance by a considerable amount. As far as abrasion resistance goes, I'm yet to have any breakages. In and around snags I'm not concerned because it feels so steely.

Mine is 5.5 ton, 600hp on back 45knts flat out. None of this MPH 😉 

Foil wrapped 20 mins in oven, serve with green beans and new potatoes (pref home grown) 😋 
However, I do feel it’s over rated. Mackerel tastes good As long as it’s fresh.

im off to Milford to winterise the boat.... sad times but with lockdown in place not much choice. So I’ll be bringing my shark gear home for a service and giving the old girl a spruce up in case we’re allowed out to play in a few weeks! 

Bones this is Jon, perhaps an heads up would've been in order.. suppose one could say every village has its idiot and our little gathering is not exempt, Jon certainly takes the gold, silver and bronze standard in idiots and is 'our' idiot with an unhealthy does of deliverance to boot.. when he delivers his catch reports which isn't that often, it tends to be pin Whiting and Dogs.. we know this isn't noteworthy but just congratulate him anyway, less agro in the long run. 🤪

You’ll soon work out how she handles 🙂 
be careful with fast turns at speed. It’s easier with hydraulic steering but puts a lot of strain on the system, best off throttling back for the turn then throttle down to come out. Else all the torque is absorbed by the steering... you don’t feel it on hydraulic unlike cable when it fights back!
