  1. Is it generally considered a modern 60hp 4 stroke outputs enough amps to recharge two battery’s at once?
  2. It will automatically switch from primary battery over to secondary when the primary reaches full capacity in charge, as opposed to me be using the primary to start engine and motor out, then switch over to secondary
  3. £180 for the blue sea add a battery vs a generic switch for £20 🤔you will get away with that in Alabama but that’s classed as rape in the UK🤣🤣🤣🤣
  4. Awesome info guys, I’ve already looked a these bits here. It’s something I’ll endeavour to do down the line, the split system sounds perfect because in theory the master battery will always be fully charged.
  5. I think I’m going to run two batteries in parallel on the new boat to accommodate the use of deck lights and fm radio when engine won’t be running, will the engine charge both of these together perfectly fine or will I need to add/change something?
  6. More money spent🤣🤣 thanks I’ll order some.
  7. I’ll be looking at getting locks fit the hatches or at least for one are they even a thing? Also thinking of getting this Marine Stereo Speakers Package 4 inches Waterproof Radio Boat Sound System AM FM Receiver USB MP3 Player With 3 inches Marine Boat Grey Speakers https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N2LFSSQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_RhKYFbFPD2XEZ
  8. Haha that’s awesome, thanks for doing that for me, I’m going down Monday to look myself but in all fairness sounds like I don’t need to look just pay, moorings in place my end also I suppose if you have more than one boat that makes me Admiral, Admiral Powers has a nice ring to it🤣🤣
  9. This is excellent news, nobody’s cleaning is good enough for me so I’ll not worried about that, new radio isn’t a problem either, one trip out it’ll be covered in fish guts and scales, that’s one advantage JC has over me because he never catches anything his boat is nice and clean🤣🤣 so if you can just give him the 10k and I’ll wait down Bridgemarsh for it to be delivered😉
  10. Hopefully saintlys giving my new boat a coat of polish about now, that or kicking the trailer tyres and nodding approvingly🤣🤣
  11. I didn’t even see your original post🤣🤣🤣 that’s why I didn’t reply🙄
  12. Just got done setting up barb wire fences and put a couple machine gun turrets up, I also carry mace, I think I’m ready to send my postcode now 🤣🤣🤣
  13. I’ve got a 4hp mariner but I won’t lie I find them a pain to carry about, on my Mayland it’s locked on to the back ready to drop starts 2nd pull, but like many haven’t ever used it.
  14. Well it all sounds real good so far, what’s your opinion on carrying a secondary when you have a reliable 4 stroke main? I know the what the obvious choice would be but do I want or need the addition weight hanging on the transom?
  15. Sounds a lot better already, I like the open cuddy it will encourage me not to bank shit in the cabin, there actually is also far less weight, I was told there shouldn’t be the need for the secondary this time but I’m not so sure, apparently four stroke is far more reliable?
  16. That would be awesome mate, you clearly know more about boats than me anyway and it’s great to have an additional opinion, Mark does sound a nice guy (don’t all salesmen) says the engine gets tested and serviced at LM marine I think he said🍻
  17. Essex marina is no wash so I stay right out in the middle and burnham is a strict 8 knot but there are no floating moorings there now so I ignore it, I have been pulled by CHA there though for speeding🤣🤣
  18. I can’t see myself saying no to it, it would need to have major flaws, it’s a poxy drive to even look at it, so I definitely can’t see myself bringing it back🤣🤣 thanks again saintly for the shout up very much appreciated🍻
  19. Haha decent boats are like codling at the moment, in truth if I had bought a boat with a two stroke on it I had every intention of putting a 4 stroke on next year, so Indirectly I’ve saved myself money anyway, they want £250 to deliver it from Southampton I think I’ll pay, I’m really interested to see what fuel burn will be like Im doing 70 litres at the minute from bridge marsh to Buxey with a bit of moving about up there.
  20. I use the loudness on that engine as an excuse why I don’t catch fish sometimes🤣🤣 they hear me coming out of bridge marsh
  21. That boat had sold, you are right though it was an evinrude 60 2 stroke with 400 hours on it, I’ve paid a deposit on the explorer elite now that has a Mercury 60hp 4 stroke with 155hrs on it, fully serviced and comes with full print out whatever that is lol, it can’t be no worse than my Smokey 55 mariner I run on the Mayland that is one noisy engine, and not terribly reliable lol.
  22. I meant he did buy another boat that being the Arvor he bought that brand new but sold it after we lost mum more or less, they are a great boat I favour the jeanneau but they are still up there, I think the fella who has it now offered to buy it for good money before it was actually for sale but he caught dads interest, and the rest is history as they say, quick question while I’m rabbiting on what sort of fuel economy different is 2 stroke vs 4?
