Well the weather looked good on Friday so decided to have a day out fishing (first of the year). Got over to scarborough and set sail at 8.50am after rigging anchor and making sure we had enough water for coffee.
Came out of the harbour and turned North (thats all you are getting) set the course on the AP and off we went.
got to our 1st mark in about 50ft of water went over it a few times and dropped anchor, settled back on the anchor and Shit we were off the mark (oh well) up anchor and have another go) spot on this time (i had not taken into account the length of the boat and the fact we were letting go around 20ft from the bow, lesson learned)
over went the baits i was using cart & squid and my mate using squid on a single hockeye. then wait but not for long had a steady stream of small codling (40cm) and 1 keeper.
After having a fresh bacon sarnie we decided to move off a bit into 80ft of water where a bit more tide was running same sort of stamp but had 2 more keepers, fished to slack and first bit of flood then motored home back alongside for 1630.
had a great day out can not wait for next time, where we are off to some wrecks to anchor up.
