  1. as predicted the man u v brentford game is OFF - im making my subs as late today as i can (pre 6pm) in case there are any more may advice - have a usable bench, spread your players across multiple teams - one game dropping out could mean 6 players void if you are unlucky, and remember those games will still play this season - so at some point Man u, spurs, brighton and brentford will all have a bonus double game week! GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK!
  2. i've always had half an eye open - but i am torn - there's a beautiful simplicity about pugwash - and she's a joy to own and look at - people stop and chat about her a lot. but things i like about my mates Benetau anteres - faster, cleaner, dryer, self draining, more comfortable. buts its all about funds - Pugwash cost me £5k to buy, runs all day on £2 of fuel, £100 to insure - everything except the berth goes up if I upgrade and even if i wanted to I dont have the £20k - £25k for a new boat. I could get a loan/sell the camper van or save hard for a few years - if i did id be interested in and Antares, Arvor, merry fisher, Seaward, smartliner I dont need to sleep aboard, but would want a half decent cabin. wheelhouse comfort is more important than sleeping arrangements - love the fact that on pugwash i can be sheltered under the wheelhouse roof but still 'outside' in the action. inboard or outboard im not bothered. the other half would like something capable of towing and inflatable ringo! (shakes head emoji) Quicksliver pilothouse would be the ultimate i think! Nordstar if i won the lottery though!
  3. they're not my dogs Jon - they're my mates dogs - fluffy and trevor - they behave much the same as yours by the sounds of it Trevor the English bull terrier doesn't care for it much and sleeps almost of the day, fluffy Jack Russel - loves it - climbs all over the place, chases the mackerel, head in the bait bucket and thinks she owns the ocean - barking at other fishing boats when she hears voices. having said that - when trevor gets excited it can be a nighmare hes a right lump!
  4. thanks mate! appreciated! its been a year of learning for sure!
  5. well its been a year to the day since i took the plunge and bought Pugwash - my first year of boat ownership - (im not counting the mirror dinghy's and toppers i had as a kid) wasn't really sure what i was doing - and was slightly rushed into a decision as the ebay auction was ending the day I viewed her - but I'm so glad I took the plunge - life experiences have taught me to live for the moment, no regrets, and what a year its been - 22 trips, countless fish including 8 PBs, and 6 firsts, many a lesson learned, and problems avoided, but all in all a fantastic year out on the water - vast amounts of memories - loads of fish, taking family and friends out, making new friends, seeing dolphins, cruise ships, chilling out, fantastic! I cant load many pics - but here's a couple of my favourites! My First fish on the first trip out on pugwash: biggest fish landed on her: Funkiest (gruntiest) fish landed Thorniest fish Most fish in one trip: friends and family: thanks Outlaws for all the support, encouragement, laughs and guidance on here!
  6. FYI - there's now talk of covid in the Man united camp and their game against Brentford might not go ahead - i'm waiting over night to see what happens tomorrow and then making a call on transfers.
  7. yes I made a good decision to offload my spurs players - Son & Hojdburg as their game was cancelled due to Covid - i bought Mount and Bernado silva - both earned me 6 points each - easily paid back the 4 points it cost me. then i had Gallagher scoop me a brace! salah and Ronaldo also scored along with a defender of mine, Reece James was the only let down - 2 goals conceded and a yellow card = 0 points reminder there is mid week football - so your teams need to be in for Tuesday 6pm. Spurs game is scheduled for Thurs and they were in training again - but i'm remaining hesitant and holding onto mount and silva.
  8. Any F1 fans on here? what did you think? I'm a massive Lewis fan so naturally the last lap was a huge disappointment, i'm happy for Max, he's a great driver, but it should have been a fair fight. Feels like it was gifted to Max by the officials - and mad decision to allow only a few cars to unlap themselves, having said none would be bale to seconds before.... should have been a red flag, all back to the pits and then a standing start for the last 5 laps - that would have been awesome and a fair fight. thoughts?
  9. did anyone get out then? I didnt I chose to do the xmas tree, decs, lights etc and watch the F1 on sunday!
  10. scrap that - my mate just cancelled.
  11. i'm still confident we can get out tomorrow morning - meeting at the marina at 7am and play it from there - reckon we'll be home by lunchtime just to see the mrs surface so we can watch the F1 qualifying!
  12. Nice one! at least you got out despite being cancelled! and caught - double result! interesting that the cod these days are often ful of prawn and shrimp yet most people use lug and squid baits....... i know what i'm doing if i get a chance to fish for Cod......
  13. First year of owning a boat - bought it off a stranger on FB marketplace who became my fishing buddy/friend/advisor/trainer/, we share trips on my boat and his 22 trips out on pugwash - 7 trips on Seadog 6 new species from the boat, 8 PBs, Counts include Tope, Spurdog, Rays (thornie, small eyed, spotted), mackerel, scad, gurnard (grey tub and red), bream, smoothounds, Conger, dogs, Whiting, Pout, Squid No bass, No pollock, no wrasse, no big blonde, no plaice, no turbot or brill - all targets for 2022! Best fish of the year was on Seadog - in a 100ft channel off Portland's SW side - i only caught 2 fish that day - both were firsts, and both were the biggest fish id ever caught - 18lb Spurdog, immediately beaten by this 40+lb Tope Best fish off Pugwash was this conger - most circulated picture 🤣 (AKA Best haul - single handed 21 mackerel in a few hours) Best eating fish was Tims Turbot what a year!
  14. Not much of a catch report - and deffo a poor fish count considering the time invested - but there were fish! I had a fishing friend come and stay for the weekend with his family - so while the girls planned a trip to Bournemouth christmas market me and shane planned to brave the cold and wind - he was keen to catch a squid before they disappear, but was happy with anything - Saturday was forecast 25mph-30mph north westerly, and Sunday 20mph easing late afternoon. so with the water clarity likely bad no squidding off the pier and with 20+mph unlikely to get the boat out. So Saturday we decided to hit the beach late afternoon into the night with high at 6.30pm- we chose Greenhill in Weymouth as we'd had success here before - a sand and shingle beach in the middle of Weymouth bay, but with rocky groin to add some underwater feature - we've had small eyed rays, conger, pouting & whiting here before - hopeful that we would be at least plagued by whiting after dark. we got there for 3pm and fished up to high and then a few hours after. with 2 rods each we threw everything at it - Squid, Rag, Peeler, razor, cuttle, mackerel, and combos of all but to no real avail - we had one whiting each for over 6hrs fishing. Packed up at 9.30pm amazed there wasnt much pout of whiting. Sunday with the weather looking better and the wind off the land we decided to try the boat for a few hours inshore - heading out of Weymouth about 12pm we drifted for squid in portlands north entrance, with only one small squid coming to me - after an hour or so we switched to drifting outside Portland harbour with baited feathers targeting mackerel, gurnard, whatever was there. sadly only one small Tub gurnard for me. despite loads of fish showing on the sounder (all the whiting we didn't catch on the beach probably) heading home as the sun set, at least we had some fresh squid for my mate and his kids to try. coated in breadcrumbs, and Shallow fried - they loved it!
  15. sorry for you loss - heartbreaking but sounds like the kindest thing to do - remember the good times!
  16. you have to transfer out first as well - before you transfer in.......
  17. it usually prompts you if you have too many defenders/strikers etc - and the money thing will show up if you cant afford the player you want!
  18. ? not sure - are you on web or app - maybe try on a different platform?
  19. no heater - good call though on a diesel heater....... the wheelhouse does offer a lot of shelter whilst fishing though.....
  20. bad luck - theres no green on pugwash - "From painting a boat the colour of grass to having anything of that hue on board, even little specks on ropes, the colour green is not a sailor's friend. The association is likely to be with land, in fact seamen thought painting a vessel green would ensure it'd run aground."
