  1. It had definitely faded, though not too bad (should've took some pics) I can't remember if I waxed over it last year, I haven't this year so will see what it like in a few months I think the benefit from Polytrol is the time and effort it eliminates, 4 of us could have cleaned, polished and antifouled all in one day ready to go back in the next (would have been a long day though) As it was, I hand cut and buffed around the wheelhouse and deck area, Nipper mopped the white parts around the outside of the hull above the blue, Andy concentrated on the inside of the wheelhouse and Mike used the Polytrol on the blue after Nipper had finished All done by about 3 ish IIRC If I had the anodes ready (which I didn't) we could have quite easily threw 2 coats of antifoul on her and had her back in the following day Anodes being delivered tomorrow, which I'll fit Friday just before she goes back in Then a few laps of the bay to get the oil up to temp, before that gets sucked out and changed along with all the filters ( 3 fuel, 1 oil) Also have to look at the main bilge pump sensor, it isn't shutting the pump off 😬
  2. Rounded, tcs chandlery sell panto arms, I may get one and see if I can modify it to fit £40/£50 but worth a go I think
  3. I thought about fitting a stronger spring in the arm, but the new one does the same (Marinco)
  4. I could also live with it, if the rest of the wiper actually wiped
  5. They're both crap, there's one new single arm and two new blades and neither blade touches all the screen on the full sweep of the arm Plus I find that the blades could do with being a few inches longer to clear more of the top of the screen, but that will just mean the longer blade overlapping the join in the 2 screens and the outside edge, causing quicker wear
  6. The blue had faded slightly since last year, but no sign of any distress 🤞
  7. Yeah, happy enough with the result, made a hell of a difference with the 4 of us Meant I could delegate all day and I didn't get any anti foul on me yesterday (mainly because I decided to delegate again and clean my windows instead) Used that Polytrol stuff again on the coloured parts, so easy and can't see any evidence of any damage etc from last years use I think it was you that was told by a mate/aquaintance not to use it ?
  8. I have a 2004 Arvor 250 with shit windscreen wipers, are there any pantograph arms that will fit straight on to the existing spindles ( obviously with the use of a plate/extra stud to hold the 2nd arm) Don't really fancy throwing £500 + at new arms, blades AND motors if I can help it What have you got @JonC single arms or pantograph ?
  9. Can someone click on one of the links and let me know if it's just that photo that can be viewed, or does it give access to all of them on my account
  10. Got the boat lifted out late Friday and spent Saturday (with 3 of my usual crew) cleaning, polishing, sweating and swearing Back down yesterday for a couple of coats of anti foul and when the anodes turn up, hopefully back in the water this Friday Also got chance to put her name on this time, the stern was easy, but the bow sides had to be cut and stuck on individually due to the curvature of the hull Didn't turn out too bad, just few tiny bubbles on the Starboard where the sun gave me a bit of grief Don't know if these pics will work as my Flckr app doesn't seem to work any more and I am trying the free Amazon one (free if you have Prime) https://www.amazon.co.uk/photos/share/woD2SIRvbyh59sLX4h4zTsPucmcdkKIvVIDvb92QmrB https://www.amazon.co.uk/photos/share/X0l54hePzKHvrPqEo0oX4pkveGRWrAGLqHBGmG3nt94
  11. Sounds like a belting weekend Not jealous, not jealous at all
  12. Hope it stays mild for both of you and you get some workshop time in Great news that you still get paid 👍
  13. No Pollock on the reefs ? Some of our club are going sharking with Andy and the rest of them are on Fens boat around the reefs this Saturday, they are going to be disappointed by the looks The reefs were dead last month, our saving grace was a wreck that gave up quite a few Pollock in the afternoon I had to pull out of the upcoming reef trip 😭
  14. Just checked and the boat caught record for Dover Sole is 4lb 6oz You may have a record holder in your ranks this time tomorrow
  15. I probably try the Coelan if I get time, I may have to leave it this year Don't mind paying a bit more if it lasts a few years
  16. True enough, I'll probably say the same tomorrow evening 😁
  17. Is that when it was first done, what's it like now after a year or so ?

    Today

At least it wasn't a blank, are you staying in Milford or heading back East for the winter
  19. Very productive few hours, nice one I shall be out in the shit coloured Bristol Channel tomorrow, chasing Sole, Bass and an early Codling
  20. Thanks Dicky, I'll try and take a look in the flesh when I get time
  21. I've got a few shooting jackets, mainly insulated though and dark in colour I wouldn't pay that sort of money, I will end up either ripping it, or someone will throw it in the bin (like my last one) I think a couple of the blokes in our club wear Vass stuff, I'll see what they say No doubt they'll all say it's the best jacket/smock they've ever worn
  22. I'm after an unlined waterproof smock, are these truly waterproof I have an Imax insulated smock/bib and brace that's great for cold weather, but will eventually let rain through after a few hrs Anyone own a Vass tex 175, or can recommend another brand
  23. A google search came up with Coelan, good reviews and supposed to last 5-7 yrs ? I like the idea of longevity
  24. My boat is coming out Friday and apart from clean, polish, anti foul etc I need to get the timber work stained/oiled/varnished on top of the gunwales again Did it last year with International Schooner (IIRC) and it hasn't lasted well I seem to remember @JonC using something different and getting better results I know you're knocking on a bit now Jon, but can you remember what you used ? I've quickly looked through most of the old posts, but can't find the thread
