  1. 3 blade bronze 19" prop, was given to me by a friend who found it while diving off the south coast somewhere Tapered shaft approx 35mm at widest, 28mm at narrowest Will need a refurb, a small area of pitting that I can see £50
  2. Nice, that is a "clonker" too Well done
  3. That's nice to see, makes a change from reading about the odd couple between a full charter Well done
  4. Bristol Channel not producing much either side so it seems
  5. That snowballed a bit then 🫣 Well done on sorting it and not just settling on "it'll do" Got to get mine out in a few weeks time, didn't get chance last Oct/Nov Pretty sure the cutlass bearing is on the list too 😭
  6. Nice one Mike, so the bream are hanging around again Always good sport if you go light 👍
  7. That shouldn't be funny, but I had a little chuckle to myself when I read it 😁
  8. Nothing to scale it to Could be miniscule, or the size of a Ford Anglia quarter pane window
  9. Local free range eggs, mixed with a bit of mayo and some chopped ham And beef space raiders Not quite as sophisticated (or satisfying) as a Beef and Tomato pot noodle, but a close 2nd Oh and a 6 pack of Tunnocks teacakes
  10. 2 of us out for 4 and a half hours, not a bite That's 3 blanks in a row Getting embarrassing
  11. Mine is the rubber type, had a quick go at it the last time the boat was out, but didn't want to mark the shift Will try the skewer method when she comes out next 👍
  12. How did you get the old bearing out without taking the shaft out
  13. Have you replaced your cutlass bearing ?
  14. Haven't done mine yet, but need to this year Are you going to remove the shaft ? Don't think mine will come out unless I remove mine
  15. Not yesterday, but I once felt a bit of resistance going over a sand bank that should've been at least 15ft lower than it actually was That tends to sharpen one's senses for a bit
  16. Update for those interested Picked up a 2nd hand Garmin 18HD radome this week and fitted it Friday morning Didn't have time to give it a proper test as I had a few jobs booked in, so left it until the Saturday When the mfd's are switched on, none of them showed the radar option, checked power cable at radome end and it was dead However, the heading problem I had after removing the knackered radome had been resolved, result ! I thought it was a couple of degrees out, so opted to carry out a factory reset at sea Bad choice as all 3 plotters were then 180 degrees out and we appeared to be going backwards Tried the recalibration procedure on the fluxgate compass a few times and got it back to 90 degrees out again Got up on the roof and unplugged the network cable, left it a minute or so then reconnected and it was OK again Which was a relief as we had to navigate some shallow water to get back in and it gets a bit confusing when your boat doesn't know it's arse from it's elbow I couldn't trace the power cable as some panels need to come off, but will get it done as soon as I get chance Also noticed something that never happened before, when at anchor and I switch the 2 older mfd's off and leave the newer one turned on, I get a message saying that the heading sensor has been lost ? I'll get power to the radome first, then go from there But, I may need the services of a teenager, they're usually pretty good with tech stuff
  17. Nice one Sevans, Don't know what was going on up this neck of the woods (Penarth area) but none of us could even buy a bite Quite a strong rip, but we've caught in similar tides Were you in the Haven, or did you venture to the reefs
  18. Caught the 7.30am lock out, along with quite a few others Was first out of the lock and sped off to our mark Apart from dragging anchor and repositioning twice, we caught the 12.45 lock back in Quite easily my/our worstest day out on a boat Not one bite between 8 rods But I didn't run aground
  19. Yes going to give it a go mate, probly tuck in to the rannie when it's ripping and try out wider when it drops off a bit If it does drop off a bit.... I have a short power cable (has been cut when the unit I bought was removed) if I don't end up using it, you can have it Can't you put the updates on an sd card at home then take it to the boat
  20. Does anyone have a 20ft network cable and a 20ft power cable lying around they want to sell (could use longer, but not shorter) Picked up a 2nd hand 18 hd radome, but got no power going through the existing cable I didn't have chance to do any checks/tracing cables today, but will have a go tomorrow whilst I am out blanking The network cable I will replace, as it has a small amount of corrosion on the end fitting
  21. I shall be out Saturday, excellent forecast but big tides, not sure where I'll go yet
  22. A belter of a day by the looks And still decent Bream about, can't be bad Well done that man !!
