I've posted on my thread that I started on ws f, to say that Suzook sorted my problems after I bumped into him on another boating forum It may pique someones interest

Nothing OTT for me An older suveran 20-30 with a Penn Squall 30 (IIRC) for wrecking, Newer Suveran 12-20 with a 2speed fathom15 and a recently bought Penn rampage 6-12 coupled to a Fathom 12 which is yet to see the water (got a trip booked form Weymouth on 30th for Bream and flats etc) and doesn't look like it will see any for a while yet with our lock down looming Oh and a plethora of uptide and downtide rods and reels which I use regularly in the Bristol Channel

Time to admit my age and wear my glasses more often I think

Our last trip of the year (down west) started with an uneventful 2hrs odd drive to Milford, where we were all fairly glad to find the toilet block open and free to use Boarded Lady Gail at 8.30am and got through the lock a short while later, to the sound of Fen (skipper) asking what bait we had Lures and feathers we happily replied, why didn't you bring bait, should've brought bait he said With a wall of concerned expressions looking at me, I explained to Fen that his booking agent (mate on another boat, long story) assured me that we would be fishing the islands and reefs as we had the last few trips Mutiny avoided we headed out of the Haven and with the islands in view, turned left away from them (they don't fish too good this time of year apparently) Stopped on a reef just outside the mouth and picked up a couple of small Pollock around the 2lb mark on first drift, then nothing Move a bit further east for similar rewards and this was pretty much how it panned out for the remainder of the day Probably tried 8-10 different areas, doing 2/3 drifts in each, but no rich pickings today We did have a couple of drifts where the fish were around 5lb (and I managed a couple of brace) but then seemed to disappear, leaving the smaller ones on the feed Back through the lock and tied up around 5.15 ish and on the road by just after 5.30 A very enjoyable day with great company and plenty of piss taking (especially our mate who blanked) If any of you fancy a trip next summer, I can't recommend this area or skipper highly enough Not brilliant this time of year, but June to Sept it's phenomenal, absolutely non-stop

We got there and back and I didn't have to use my Abergavenny ruse either

I'm doubting what I think I know I've done now I'm going to boat tomorrow morning and will take a pic/video of it all Thanks

Something not adding up here then, nothing is connected to the exc terminal (battery light still goes out when started) The cable that was connected, I put on the S terminal and all seems fine with an output of 14.5 v when running I appreciate your time on this, but it isn't making sense I'm away tomorrow, but will go down Sunday morning and take a pic of the back of it, with terminal letters visible and maybe you can tell me what should go where and how/why it appears to be working now

Just zoomed in on the back of the original alt and the left hand wire (purple/pink) goes on the terminal marked exc, with the red/green on the one marked S So S was never connected to anything, or are the connections opposite in the alt I have now

The only info I have was a sicker on the original alternator (mando)which said Replacing LPA01926 This was cross matched to the one that's on there now The engine is a 230hp mercruiser (black engine) on a 2004 boat Do both of those flying leads need to connect to something, obviously the right hand one (red/green) hasn't been for some time Thanks for your patience zook

That purple wire was giving the alternator battery voltage via a relay when engine was started The red wire on the right is a temp one from the battery When wired like this the battery voltage was 14.5v I removed the temp red cable, put the purple one in its place and the voltage is still 14.5 Is this OK

I think they're all much of a muchness now (cordless tools) have used all the brands and not a lot between them, also had a 36v Hilti that shit itself as well Nearly 600 quids worth

I don't use many spanners day to day (plumbing, heating etc) but have a few Bahco socket sets and adjustables which have been great Have Milwaukee fuel cordless stuff and they take a fair bit of abuse from me, the first kit of them I had (brushes) were shit, literally fell apart Scewdrivers and other small stuff I buy middle of the road, I usually loose them before they have chance to wear out Crescent and Channelock are ok for pump pliers I keep a Draper socket set and various spanners and screwdrivers on the boat Not quite made of chocolate, but not expensive and OK as a boat tool kit

Getting confused now Traced the red flying led from rear of alt (it connects to a green harness wire via a bullet con) this goes into a wiring centre and is made off with heat shrink Hasn't been connected to anything since I have owned the boat Run a temp cable from battery to red flying lead on alt and voltage drops from 15.4 to 14.5 The other flying lead on alt gets battery voltage via a relay once engine is started Help

Will do if we get there, I am currently residing in Abergavenny and have been since before my county got locked down, so theoretically I am OK to travel

NOT Sea bass BASS The last couple I oven baked in a foil parcel, with a knob of butter and some seasoning in the stomach cavity (for a daughter that's usually off fried food) I prefer shallow fried personally What do you do with a Bass if it's to be cooked ?

Don't tell Drakeford, but I'm going out to the reefs and islands off Milford Haven on Saturday That also looks good
