What a dick this bloke is! posting a YouTube video of him on a wreck when a bloke in a red arvor turns up just skirting the wreck about 50-100yds away minding his own so dickhead starts moaning and whining slagging him off naming the boat. It’s the tossers in the comments saying cast weight at him and trail a rope to foul his prop ect! What a load of wankers!

wind slow enough to keep the stop knot at the top of the float this will keep your bait where you want it, make sure you have an extra oz of lead on as I found this helps a lot to keep your gear down when putting on winding tension, I always use circles and never rush to wind down  if the float goes 'unless its coming towards you' you know this anyway lol

yes I do it but im setting the float drift to around 200yds then very very slowly retrieve it, I find a fillet of mackerel cut longways again or a whole squid both just hooked once in the top works very well in the tide, try setting the rig up like a Portland rig so when the tide is faster the trace flows better. I dont tend to get any tangles even in 6knts of tide. 

Not come across those I'm afraid, so can't say either way but for the price it'd be hard to go wrong. Only thing to check would be the guides; don't think they're Fuji. But at least the reel seat is Pac Bay, which should give years of service.
Got to be worth a try, and the 6lb would be very sporting for what you have in mind 👍

Ive got some luminous muppets about 3" long that I put above my squid baits for cod. The local tackle shop owner swears by them. I didn't buy them off him, but he reckons baits with them easily out fish those bare baits. 
So I tried one rod with, one without. And guess what?? 
Yep you guessed it, I caught fuck all on both 🤣

1500XG looks interesting for getting your gear off the bottom quick, note to self, ‘you have more than enough gear’ 🤣

Sakuma 80lb shock leader round here due to the stupid amount of Eels.  It's quite a supple line so doesn't twist up quite so easy. 
I usually have 15 hook lengths pre tied so if one ends up like that I unclip and use a new one. 
If it gets stupid for Eels (the spoils can be like that) I go over to nylon coated wire which strangely doesn't suffer twisting up so much and means you aren't replacing hook length every cast

Bum year down here.  Just been called down the harbour, the ring netters just got in and left me 5 stone of pilchards for me!!  Now in the freezer for chum. Things are looking up eh 👍

It's definitely been a strange one. Plenty of sandeels round our way but I don't think I've caught a bass all year so far. Managed one mackerel so far this year and I wasnt even aiming for them - it took a sliver of squid on a bream rig.
Those factory trawlers that were scouring the Channel last summer won't have helped this season's fishing at all.
Edited to say that I'll move this over to General rather than Catch Reports, given that we're grumbling about not catching 🤣

Anyone else getting the feeling this year is a bum one for fishing? Virtually zero bait out there, very little mackerel 30 in two sessions morning and eve but all large fish. Virtually no launce about, very little on my usual good pollack marks! 

I believe he had a dummy spit when someone else hooked both sharks!!!
