Why would you want a separate section for spiky pot bait 🙄

I don’t disagree Steve. Maybe a separate section is needed. 

I just asked a question,
maybe you should have a bass fishing section, it wouldn't matter then.... Just boat reports in shore and vice versa is messy, and makes things harder to find should you want to later.....

I've eaten mullet once and I'd never ever eat them again ! You are dead right that they taste like mud ! I even done the same thing docking it in salty water for at least 24 hrs 🙃 yuk yuk yuk disgusting fish lol 😆

I did say that I would not post any more pics of the Fenlander until she was about finished, so I thought I would post a couple of pics of my other boat, a Fairline Carrera "Mistral". this is the boat that we removed from the river on Wednesday.

Will live it in the summer hopefully catch some lovely fish too 😋

Cheers Geoff it's my 1st boat the Mrs wasn't too happy with it as I told her it was ok to have a party on with the kids but when she see it she never spoke to me for 3 days lol 😀 she wants to upgrade it to a weekend one bit bigger but I'm going to see how much I use it 1st before I start saving 

Ahhh ill try and do that next time I'm out I guess if I keep trying I'll start to understand it a bit better once I've used it a couple of time but I get the jest of what your saying .thanks Andy 👍👍

Hi Andy it's got a mariner 90 I've had 24 knots out of it it might go a bit faster but I don't know how to trim it properly yet I'm still learning lol heard you count to one one thousand ,two one thousand, three one thousand then its about right and im yet to try doing that 😀

I've been looking at this sight and have now decide to join up,my name is Steve and retired last March after working in oceanography for 33 years and then Covid hit and scuppered alot of my plans for my retirement. On the boat front I've been in partnership for years and have had Pilot dory,Raider 18 wheelhouse and since 2008 a Aquafish 23 which is based in Haslar marina and fish Nab and Selsey areas and occasionally the Solent.

I like Bass cooked the Mediterranean way, the recipe is a bit lengthy but here goes;
heat some olive oil in a pan,add a squirt of tomato paste,sundried tomato paste,garlic paste,chile paste and a pinch of dried mixed herbs,fry gently for a couple of minutes.
add skinned fillets of bass,or any other white fish and fry gently for a couple of minutes each side.
add a tin of tomatoes,stir in, then add a tin of butter beans or cannelini beans,make sure you rinse the beans off in cold water to remove the starch before adding them.
add salt then cover the pan and simmer gently on the lowest possible heat for about an hour to soften the beans.
 

The old ball and chain likes hers either filleted and skined, with salt and pepper,  garlic, butter and dark soy. Foil wrapped lightly and in an oven at 160 / 170 for 20 - 25 minutes depending on size of fillets. 
The other method is head and tailed foil wrap with salt and pepper, garlic, ginger drizzled with olive oil.. depending on the size of fish rough guide being 160 for 40 minutes.
 

I'm sure I'll be able to do some of the meet.  Likely leave my boat at Gosport and sail out and meet for the fishing and meet for the BBQ or meal. I'd be pretty useless on a pub crawl as I'm virtually tee total 😁

The QS 640 is a lovely boat, is it your first boat or just a new to you one? And what made to decide on Cobbs in Poole as a marina? It’s a long way to go, or do you now live in Poole?

My names nigel I'm from sevenoaks Kent and I've got a qs 640 pilothouse in cobbs quay . Only had it there a couple of weeks so I'm new to poole fishing only been out on it once and caught a lovely bass . Also yes I now know there's a very large mudbank outside of cobbs on the low water (which I luckily got of with a little luck ) lol
