  1. How big a bath does he need is more the question?
  2. Mr Perkins pushed mine at 8/9 knot,. The ‘Bath Toy’ is a good bit quicker but doesn’t do the same seas.
  3. Skint! No, just do mainlt solo fishing and like to travel about with the boat especially inland Lochs and stuff.
  4. Mmmm, Colvic Seaworker 22, I’ve had one in the past, great boats.
  5. Welcome. Good fishing out of Dunbar and St Abbs. What boat do you have?
  6. I fitted two new coils last year, they replaced the originals that had lasted 30 years. Doubt new ones will last as long.
  7. Mr Mariner fired up and running sweet. Not been used in six months - always a relief that it’s not a carb strip down job 🤗
  8. Bad one suzook12, at least the whole thing didn’t go up in smoke.
  9. Thanks everyone. I’d best start saving up then. Just waiting to hear back from Orkney ref the transom build quality. I’ve seen photo’s of 25’s on the back of 440’s but my hull has 20 max on the plate so that’s my max.
  10. My 4 hp 2 stroke Mariner does similar. But the 15 can sometimes be a a bit more tricky. It’s very easy to flood the carb and then takes a fair few pulls to get it fired up. It’s on those occasions when you see other turn the key and their engine busts into life that you dream of some newer technology 🤔
  11. There are some changes to the cuddy / windows and they were fitted with the locker under the bench. As far as I can see the hull looks same. I’ll contact Orkney and see what they advise.
  12. Good points there, transom is solid - but will check weights of any prospective purchase. Also hadn’t thought about battery failures so hand pull back up option would be handy. Am I right in thinking the hull of the Coastliner and 440 are the same or were there some tweaks that improved the 440?
  13. Thanks, modern digital ignition systems that start at the turn of a key are very very appealing. I’m getting past all this hand pull to start stuff. Because the 30 year old outboard has lived on the back of a garage kept boat all it’s life it looks like new. Should help fund a new four stroke.
  14. I’m considering and researching options for a new outboard . I have searched this site and seen some reviews of the small Tohatsu engines. The max size for the wee boat is 20 hp. I’m taken by the 7 year warranty (with a pinch of salt of course) but they appear to be solid engines. I think I need to upgrade from 2 stroke / pull start / and get rid of the smoker. Anyone got or had experience with Tohatsu in the 20 hp range? I’ve currently got a Mariner and had a number of Mariner two strokes in the past. Interested to hear your thoughts.
  15. Some cover versions work well. Alpha was certainly giving it his all to get some audience participation..... You might like this, Conkarah & Rosie Delmah with a cover version of Hello.
