In Poole we have the marine section police (part time) who have a rib you wont get away from unless you can go into the shallows and jet skis. Harbour control have several boats and jet skis who do police the harbour fairly regularly but especially the summer months. PHC also have the harbour almost completely covered with radar and cameras. We also have Dads army also known as MVS who plod around the harbour in a six knot skip
Hmmm that brings back memories and reminds me of what's instal for me during January through to march.
Isn't it funny how during the season you get so many offers of crewing but when the boats out it goes quiet
Trigger fish have been around our way for quite a few years now but are very localised. Sunfish are spotted every year, here'e one landed by a club member then promptly returned unharmed
Re Orca's a pod was spotted off of Lulworth earlier this year. We also see/hear reports of basking sharks annually
Ordinarily I would put you up however we have long term guests until their house has been refurbed, even my 22' by 22' garage is full of another house's belongings so unfortunately no room at the inn
I'll likely be around so could meet up with you guys in the evening however would be using my own boat.
Turbot & Brill is a little, well, over speculative but not impossible, everything else is a given (pretty much)
Depends how you measure value however, we have an ex scaffolder working for us and like you he will eat (almost) anything and will drink anything & everything
The pub was probably the King Charles (Charley) as there are no Princes in Poole, it's one of the oldest pubs in Poole.
The Weathers spoons on the Quay is called The Quay, very inventive of them. Surprised you got in as most people get no further than the door as you stick to the carpet
Glad the skipper took you around to Dancing Ledge (Jurassic coast) can be a good spot for Bream but is a little early for them although I have heard of at least one being caught.
