  1. Nice looking rig congrats
  2. I would be up for it but our attending would be very dependant on weather for us steaming up from Poole. We would also obviously need a berth so where you base the meet would also have a bearing on whether its viable for us
  3. They were lovely boats Geoff, I can remember drooling over those in my younger years. Agree with the fuel log comment but its a habit (read as obsession) I can't seem to shift
  4. Which probably helped you on the price so may have been a win for you
  5. I used to love the Shetland Family Four, great boats. How come yours has Shetland 536 decals on the side?
  6. I was about 4 when I started fishing with my dad. He built a small boat similar to the Poole Canoe which is a flat bottom boat. There was a seagull 2or3hp outboard on it to start with he then upgraded to a seagull silver century 5hp with clutch and recoil starter OOOOH I here you say but in those day that was a major upgrade. We generally only ever fished Poole Harbour but as a kid I had a blast. I have been fishing ever since and since the age of 18ish I have hardly ever been without a boat of some description as follows: 18' cornish sports boat, 10' With, 17 Pilot, 18' Poole Canoe, Hardy 17' Fisherman, Warrior 195, Karnic 2460 and now my current boat Rodman 870, it took me about 45 years to get through all those boats but apparently Neil got through that many in a month
  7. Hi Geoff Thanks for the compliment, Neil has been out on Madness in fact I think it was the trip out with me that confirmed to him he wanted to upgrade to his current boat. The crew, the grandchildren love playing around on the boat or more correctly jumping off. Her indoors also liking the social side of boating. The eldest boy and I love offshore fishing so she gets well used for allsorts of water play She has twin D3 170 hp diesels, flat out at 26 knots so not super quick but will cruise comfortably at 18/20 knots using about 40 litres per hour. I keep a full fuel log and average consumption is about 15 lph but that includes slow plodding and drifting over wrecks with the engine running Martin

  15. Thanks Andy, she is a great fishing platform and one reason why I have never had teak look alike decks is because bare gel coat is easily washed down. She is also great for long distance offshore work and weekends away but does like drinking the juice
