New to the site but already asked questions and got great feedback. I fish out of St Abbs on the east coast of Scotland, great bit of coast line. I have a Shetland with a tohatsu 50hp it does me, I keep hinting to the wife about getting a new one but it falls on deaf ears 🤣

Hi Andy, especially when it was my stupidity in the first place that caused the problem. Great help on here though, really pleased I've found this forum.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. I think I've gotten to the bottom of it, I did the service myself and I thought I had the gaps on the spark plugs correctly but on closer inspection the gaps looked too small so I rectified it to a bigger gap going by the manufacturer's guide. I ran it for a good while then took it to sea where I was getting the right revs and the engine sounded like its old self. So hopefully that has been the problem, I'm about to head back to the boat to run it again, I'll let you know if there's any problems. Thanks again, really appreciate your advice guys.👍

Help needed please... I have a tohatsu 50hp 2 stroke. The problem is I'm loosing power and can't get over 3000rpm. It runs fine then all of a sudden it doesn't sound right and then I can't get over 3000rpm. It's been serviced recently spark plugs filters etc. I'm starting to think it could possibly be the ht leads or fuel. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
