  1. We have a club comp that day, as competition secretary i really should be there😁
  2. Had a comp out on the boat from Burnham on Sea yesterday. Only 2 boats out but a cracking day at sea. First cast and my brothers uptider had the classic nod nod slack and it was fish on. The fish fought like a cod staying deep all the way to the boat banging away and I got the net ready more in hope than expectation. Couldn’t believe it when a nice double broke the surface. Steady fishing for the rest of the ebb with thornies, straps and dogs but as the tide slackened the the bites slowed. Dad was next in to a decent fish over slack water with a hound well into double figure. Once the flood started we were well off the mark so we repositioned. This was a good move as we caught steadily again with 3 Huss and another cod to me. Back on the beach my bro’s cod weighed 13-9 and got him second place and won the pools, my cod weighed 12-8 and took third while my dad won with his hound that went 14-8
  3. I thought you lived in Kent!!
  4. I used to work at Lechlade trout farm and fishery 30 years ago.
  5. What about Ilfracombe? Dan on Reel Deal has had a cracking run of porgies and a few threshers
  6. Yes the slip next to the ferry, all tides access if you have a 4X4. It is nice to go to different venues every now and then and target something else.
  7. Didn't see a giant mack all week, only had 6 baby ones lol. The biggest pollack was only around 7lb but good eating fish.
  8. trying to add more piccys but all to large even though I have edit them as small as poss?
  9. Took the boat down to Fowey for 5 days last week. Mixture of wrecking, sharking and inshore. 8 blues to over 100lb plenty of pollack and a bass off a wreck, some plaice from the harbour and loads of whiting when drifting for the sharks. Other fish caught were ballan and cuckoo wrasse, scad, pout, gurnard and mackerel (only 6 all week). Great time and hopefully back next year
  10. Check out the Guy Cotten range, i have one of their smocks (grey one) and very waterproof so far.
  11. Luke i think you could be right, i reckon there will be more threshers within 6-7 miles off the heads than 30 miles offshore.

    A few more

Nice session, doesn't look to good for our trip on Tuesday.
  13. Nice work, definitely worth a few cans of Thatchers.
  14. John? Do you mean Jamie? 😁
  15. Nice day Luke. I'm back down on White Water on the 7th i hope we do as well.
  16. Had a trip out yesterday on a friends boat from Portishead yesterday. Target was sole and bass which I failed at miserably. My mate on the other hand had 4 nice sole and a bass. I did manage thornbacks and straps though. Below is my mates haul and a picture of mine!
  17. Nice one. I'm going sole fishing off a mates boat in the Bristol channel tomorrow for the first time, hope we do as well.
  18. Nice one, good to see the macks finally turn up. If you do get a power cut ill help take some of off your hand for chum!!😁
  19. Worth a try if on your own boat but i don't think it would be to popular on a charter as likely to cause tangles if lots of other lines down.
  20. Nice one. I have fished with my dad all my life and i hope my son continues to fish with me for the rest of it. It's great out on the boat with my lad, my bro and my dad.
  21. Had a trip out on Pegasus skippered by Lewis Hodder yesterday, first time out with him for me. Forecast wasn’t great but the sea state was ok and it stayed dry all day with small periods of sun. Bream from the off mixed in with straps, pout, poorcod, small pollack and a few mackerel. When the tide reached full strength the fishing died and even after a move the fishing was poor for the afternoon. Still was a nice day on a new boat and one I will be back out on again.
