Tides are massive this weekend, didn't think the Skerries fish that well for plaice on the big tides. If he will go the distance i would favour the wrecks but it will be quick drifts.

That must be getting on for 40 miles each way!!

Should’ve pulled into Watchet or Porlock and spent the evening in the pub .
mate of mine fished horseshoe rocks a few weeks ago and had 10 bass. If it’s the same one down by watermouth

If it's blues you want then anywhere West from Brixham. Anglo Dawn from Falmouth does ok on them. Chippie out of Penzance sometimes has spaces on facebook but they normally go within minutes so you would have to be quick.

As said already check with your skipper but i would think a 12-20 would cover most situations. The skipper should have heavier combos should you need to borrow/hire them. Another reel to check out is the original Diawa Slosh 20, no level wind but bulletproof and will land anything your likely to hook. I would also use 30-40lb braid even on a 12-20 rod.

Great report well done

Don't know what i did there!!
We don't fish there anywhere near as much as GPSguru but last year we had a good day on there with plenty of plaice on blinged up traces of ragworm tipped with half a raw prawn then a long sliver of squid. We also dragged half a macky fillet for turbot all day and had a fair few rays, small eyed, blonde and spotted. A couple of the other club boats did find a turbot but they were taken on worm baits after plaice.

Any one done it and what's the chances of being hit with tax? looking at some harnesses and their a lot cheaper than uk prices. when i got to checkout price had gone up but unsure if that was due to tax being added, if not then you get hit with tax saving is not so great.

We're with Porthcawl and get 20 miles coverage but had to ask for it as 12 miles was standard. Due for renewal in December so will check we still get it then. Also have new for old coverage on everything except the outboard which is market value. This is on a 18 ft boat on a trailer

Fished Saturday and Sunday on the boat from Burnham this weekend. First time out since October so made the most of the good weather. Only short 5 1/2 hour trips over high water.
Saturday produced plenty of dogs, thornbacks, straps, a single blonde ray and a nice cod of 10-4 for my dad.Sunday was the first junior comp of the year for our club so had my son onboard. We went back to the same mark and faired similar but with out a cod but 3 blondes instead. Overall a great weekend and if felt great to be back out on the water
