  1. Many. But the one in question this time is an original Abu 7000
  2. She could have made an effort and brushed her hair.
  3. I don't do enough beach fishing to warrant changing over to multi's. My rods are all continental style rigged for FS.
  4. Yes I agree, that's why I'm switching to casting with a multi. I'll leave my FS reels for the beach.
  5. This is my normal practise. However in order to search a larger area and potentially catch more fish, I want to get to grips with other styles. Uptiding being one, and then balloon fishing another (biodegradable balloons btw).
  6. Yep looking myself to get out and try new bits. Looks dodgy still for the next week at least. Oh, apart from when I'm at work next week.
  7. Ok I get it, but what is the dial for? Is that the break strength? And does lower number mean more breaks?
  8. So, now I've got the rod sorted, read the "Bob Cox" book, I need help with the reel. Ive never really done casting with a multi, so what does the little numbered dial on the side do? If I'm casting, do I have it set higher or lower??
  9. @mike farrants take a look at this on eBay. 115033609137 just what you need.
  10. I think his mate @Bones took over from him when tad spat his dummy.
  11. 🤣Ex? Is that because you were/are crap at it, or because tadpole dumped you? 🤣
  12. @mike farrants , if you want a decent FS reel then I'm afraid you are going to need to at least double your budget. Nothing in the £50 range will last. If that defo is the only spare cash you got then look at anything by shimano. Even their budget reels are better than the likes of tronix pro. You need a 10'000 size spool at least, take a look at the Shimano Aerlex 10000 XSB. Or any of their Ci4 reels. I have 2 x 10'000 and a 5'000 ultegra Ci4, they are excellent. Ive had them for 10 years now and serviced only twice, they've never skipped a beat!
  13. So @Malc, what's the rule of thumb when selecting different coloured jellies/lures (whatever) for different seasons or light conditions??
  14. Don't forget the hand sketched diagrams !! 👍🏻
  15. I will PM @JonC now. Thanks for the heads up!
  16. Thanks Malc. No rush though. By 11am will be fine! 🤣
  17. It ain't done til it's done Geoff. 🤞🏻
  18. Oh. Thought it was going to be some magic fish catching invention that may actually see @Andy135 land something!
  19. Nice. I hope it works as well as it looks like it should!
