  1. This is the craft in question... https://www.inautia.com/used-boat-34841030212253574957487057504567.html
  2. I tried to call them yesterday but guess what?? " Due to covid...... blah blah Nobody picked up the phone
  3. Well it's improved since you moved out! (it hasn't)
  4. Yes it's a bit grey Steve, hence I'm trying to find a definitive answer!
  5. Customs basically. Getting the boat past them without the correct paperwork is the issue.
  6. The fascination is in the challenge to find and catch one. Not necessarily the fish itself. Like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
  7. Thanks Luke , but this only refers to vat which I am well aware of. Even with paying the vat and transport costs the boat would be worth it. However it's the certification that is the problem here.
  8. Yeah I've emailed the RYC and getting no response. I've also emailed these guys... https://www.hpi-ceproof.com/ And again, no response. Removing an engine and shipping it separately just adds to the stress and cost. Not something I can be arsed with, I'm stretching my limits of "doable by me" as it is!!
  9. Not so much a link for actual facts but a link from advice given by others on YBW. https://forums.ybw.com/index.php?threads/buying-from-palma.575216/ I have emailed Volvo penta and they have sent me the relevant certificates relating to the engine fitted.
  10. Ok, so now we have left the EU, importing boats into the UK has become a bit of a mine field. Apparently all boats to be brought in must conform to RCD II. Im looking at a boat that's engine is RCD I. The engine is a Volvo penta D4 260hp. Now there are quite literally 1000's of these engines already in use in the UK. But I can't bring one back from the EU because it does not conform?? Who is up to date with the ins and outs of the regs? Let's leave VAT to one side for a moment, as paying this is understood. @Andy135, did you check or worry that the Suzuki on JG conforms? Were you even aware of the rule??
  11. Nice one Gord. The BT is truly an epic boat. I had the chance to helm a BT31 in the summer and it was most impressive!
  12. I didn't realise this was a thing. I thought they just got dumped and burned out on the local council estate!
  13. Thanks all for your helpful suggestions. I have today fixed the issue. Turns out the spade connections on the sensor were a bit green, and one slightly loose. So a quick clean and squeeze resulted in..... Yey
  14. No idea what that is, I've not got the same googling time as you.
  15. Well done Ian, good to see you back out there mate!
  16. Apparently the tachometer sensor is here... On the flywheel housing. Port side of the engine. I will go and check all connections however.
  17. Possible I suppose, it's on the other side though. But I did also change the anodes and two are on the same side as the alternator. I will have a look later! I'm obvs not as slim as I thought.
  18. Shove off. It's my phone/eye sight not me!
  19. If you remember, when I had my new battery charger installed the alternator was removed and tested (couple of months ago). All was fine with it.
  20. Left the jetty at 8am sharp and was setting a line by8.35am. Sat there for 6.5 hours, got through a 5lb box of squid and caught 2 pin whiting and a dog! Still the water was nice! On the plus side, I got a call to say Leo had passed his grade 3 classical guitar exam at the first attempt!! That's my boy!!
