  1. At least it's not a blank in the rain!! Will look forward to what you can conjure up!
  2. We are having a red letter day here today. Weather wise anyway. 20degC and no wind. Been on the boat at the marina since 10am. Leo took us down the river on the tender for a couple of miles and back. Now about to break out the bread for some mullet!
  3. Skilled Pete, I think that would be a better word to insert. Always put them on the meat!! πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ€›πŸ»
  4. Thanks @suzook12, I will bring it home today and give it a try! πŸ‘πŸ»
  5. Get your mind out of the gutter πŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸ¦°. You know what I mean.
  6. Ok heard. But, only an inch of entry from a possible 3 just seems to be putting excessive force on that small end bit of the female part?
  7. The spigot of my uptide rod only slides into the female bit by about an inch and then stops solid, to the point where it's real hard to twist and pull out again. It looks like it should go in by about 3 inches. What's best to give the male part a bit of a shave to get it to fit better?
  8. Unlucky mate, but was a good afternoon to get out non the less. It looks like the weather system that was closing in on me at the brambles missed your patch? I had wind and rain at 2pm. Still, atm next Friday is looking good too/2!!!!
  9. Typical πŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸ¦°, its all about the Benjamin's!! πŸ™„ Anyway, how did your trip go? Got a catch report to put up with pics for @JonC??
  10. I took the day off today to meet up with @Andy135 for a touch of cod bothering. Andy though decided a meeting was more interesting than hanging out on Tarlach Too with me. Can't say I blame him. Well it was quite a non event, no cod. This may be down to the fact that the water is still so warm and the strong 4.6m tide. The Solent never fishes brilliant when the tides are so big. However, I did manage to persuade a few fishies off the bottom. I ended with a pout who had eyes bigger than his belly.. 4 Dogs, this being the first, caught in the uptide rod... And I had 3 snakes... Not a cod fest, but still better than being in a meeting!!
  11. I have spoken to Ryan the skipper. He said if you all want to bring your own frozen squid and mackerel etc he will pick up 2lb of rag worm for the plaice fishing. apparently there are some nice plaice about still and the whiting are starting to show.
  12. It appears there may be hope for you yet Luke!
  13. So so far Jon you are the closest to the guys technique in the video!
  14. Yeah but with yellow socks.
  15. YesπŸ€” pennel rigs. I tend to stay away from double hooks as I find them a bit cruel. Somehow in my mind feeding a fish one sharp hook isn't as bad as feeding it a double. Especially greedy dogfish.
  16. Is Jude modelling the sandals ?
  17. Yes we do tend to fall into the bling trap. I'm like you (only slimmer), I don't use much else than a running ledger. Difference is you up-tide and I down tide. Good quality bait is the key factor.
  18. I tend to agree. This guys method is so simple, and so is his rod. I can't see it working in the Solent or BC!
  19. Is that it? Where's your original comedy. All you got is "right back at yer babe"...πŸ™„
  20. He's prettier than you though!
  21. I didn't buy it from Amazon you fool. That's just the photo share link. And yes, for the tender. The 3.5 Mercury just wasn't enough when 2/to up.
