  1. I certainly don’t use rag worm any more. They make far too much mess. Lug worm is ok, black lug wrapped in paper the preferred worm.
  2. @DINOBOY 2 quality pollock there. And by the way your dressed it looks like you had a superb Devon summers day for it too!!
  3. Well this is a twist isn’t it?? I don’t remember you having centre console on your list?
  4. @Jon cook as Andy says, after lockdown get out there. But you’ll have to be quick, even if the boat you like is at the other side of the country. I have a feeling they won’t hang around too long. Always have cash on your hip too and test drive the damn thing before parting with some hard earned.
  5. Chuckle worth I suppose 6/10
  6. I use hard backs for smooth hounds and find they normally sort out the bigger specimens. The plus side too is that they are free and found under most shore line rocks.
  7. It’s more of a groaner Geoff than a rip roarer. 6/10
  8. Nice Pete, bet your glad about that?
  9. I had a very quick look at the site and was bamboozled by the choice in the range. For this type of fishing how do you know (guess) which is the right rod for you??
  10. There must be some reason for it Steve, ulterior motives or not. Good job Leo seems to have forgotten about the rod for the moment. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
  11. At least in the solent you can have some great summer sport for the hounds, and get a proper bend in the rod (well proper for here anyway). And you don’t have to travel for hours and hours to get there.
  12. Gord, where we live fuel is the least of the worries. If you gotta worry about fuel costs, you can’t afford to own a boat. Unless it is trailered and on your drive. Boating (for my family) is a way of life not just a hobby. We tend to use the boat instead of going on long haul flights to far flung climates.
  13. Not so optimistic actually.a few years ago I purchased a continental rod, rrp was £360. The tackle shop guy left his catalogue on the counter. For him to buy from the manufacturer the cost was £180. A terrible mark up. Worse than my charges.
  14. Think your a bit late to the party on this one mate.
  15. Yeah mine was around £4500 then minus the 6%. So pretty similar. I may have to come pay Cobbs a visit in the summer. I’ll let you buy me a beer !!
