  2. What does cobbs cost for your 870 Martin? Is it in competition with Hamble prices ??
  3. Just to address the balance! 🤣
  4. Don’t you have any English speaking jiggers?
  5. Yeah but I don’t speak their language either so still won’t know what they are saying!!
  6. Got an update on this today. The rod is practically finished. There is a customs hold up though with the reel seat. Chris orders from a supplier who’s stock has been held up at Castle Donnington customs yard. UPS still trying to get the clearance.
  7. I got about 20 seconds into each video before the subtitles cheesed me off😟
  8. More than that I feel. Maybe my control will not be so in control next time🤔
  9. Mine is neither walk around or flybridge. But yes to only one fixed bed and a lowering table in the saloon , which is ideal for two kids or one adult, providing they are not hulk hogan. If your after two designated beds then you need to go bigger which you don’t want to do, sorry Gord but you can’t have cake and eat it so to speak.
  10. Think I gotta get one of those. What size line does it take or do they do different sizes?
  11. If only you knew the post I had to delete yesterday Ian because I thought it was too harsh on you and I didn’t want to cause offence. Then you put this up............
  12. @Peachey can you remind us of your budget again please?
  13. If your referring to the 805 then you are way off with the speed. A colleague of mine has one and his is good for 18-20 knots cruise, max around 22. From what you are saying @Gordmac it sounds very much like the puzzle I had been trying to solve for myself. You want a boat that gives... good accommodation , good range, good fishing space, a good turn of speed when needed without being a bullet and costing the earth to run, good sea keeping manners. All of this and NOT costing a bundle to maintain. The answer to your conundrum is a Starfisher 840 with a single 260hp Yanmar engine on a shaft. Just what I found for myself. This for me and my needs (which sound very similar to yours) is as close to perfect that you could get. Shes good for 20knt cruise and will do so all day, tops out at WOT at 24knts. Sits lovely in the water, fishes well at anchor with enough room for 3 with 1-2 rods each. Great for overnighting and not too large that the mooring fees are through the roof. You should take a much closer look at them. If you want to come and take a look at mine when travel is allowed, you’ll be most welcome to.
  14. Good couple of vids there Ian. I always struggle with these types of knots, the bobbin makes it look easier but still a real faff when out on a boat. I think my eye sight let’s me down when tying these (and my patients). I use a similar knot but it’s made with the leader in a loop, pass the braid through the loop, wrap 12-14 times then back through the loop, pull tight then finish off. It’s not quite as skinny as these knots but real strong all the same and a lot easier to tie when on a rocking windy boat. That shimano bobbin is available on eBay, cheapest £52 from Japan with free postage.
  15. Yes what he said 👆🏻. I’m also too far East to take advantage. But well done on the offer.
  16. You are probably too young to remember Saturday wrestling ? It’s part of my childhood memories. I’m sure there are a couple of other members who remember it.
  17. Yes agreed, but like I said, I’m sure Gord is aware of annual costs to own and maintain.
  18. Oh, and there was me thinking I’d posted in the general discussion section. Where we can talk about anything!! Anyway I’d have thought a couple of fat fuckers cuddling would be right up your street!!
