  1. Oh..... you were talking about the fish.... right got yer..
  2. ah..... Saturday afternoon wrestling...
  3. Ah but you said triple on servicing not annual by the by yard maintenance. £650 for a timing belt service. I spent £99. Lift and block £320 with unlimited time ashore. Anodes, oil and filters maybe another £300. I’m sure @Gordmac has an idea already of those sorts of costs. He has just sold his boat so it’s not like he’s new to the world of boat ownership.
  4. A little closer to home..... what you save on fuel you could put toWard the servicing... https://www.rightboat.com/gb/boats-for-sale/bayliner/288-flybridge/rb335083 money left over... https://www.rightboat.com/gb/boats-for-sale/beneteau/antares-9/rb343123 or https://www.rightboat.com/gb/boats-for-sale/nimbus/31-c-cd58f8c2-f61b-4499-a3c7-4c1d03bca161/rb237785
  5. Really, I thought you hadn’t done your PB2 yet. Chop chop it’ll be dark soon!!
  6. Nice one Mike. All you need now is a calm day and a bit more warmth. Oh and a willing volunteer to guide for a few hours. Looks like your set for a good season.
  7. Talking sh1t again Jon? Unless the boat has twin engines you’ll get no where near triple the cost. Double maybe.
  8. 9/10 for that one Brian 👍🏻
  9. @Gordmac, the dry weight of the Antares is 5.3 tonne and the rodman 870 is 5.23 tonne. So yes a bigger boat but slightly lighter for the size equivalent. Fuel burn is obviously down to what engine is fitted and how heavy your throttle arm is on the lever. If it’s too big still then maybe consider the Antares 9 instead. here you go.. https://www.yachtworld.co.uk/boats/2005/beneteau-antares-9-series-3529421/?utm_source=newsnow&utm_medium=paid-feed&utm_campaign=rubrikk_group or even https://www.boatclassified.co.uk/listings/jeanneau-merry-fisher-925/
  10. They must be delayed, he was fine yesterday!
  11. 5/10 slipping standards Ian. Think you peaked too early.
  12. Nobody in there right mind would need to fish from the flybridge.
  13. Again your talking out of your butt. Andy and I can fish 4 on his boat. That Antares could fish 6 easily.
  14. This generally doesn’t get thrown around on the inside of a boat. There are such things as towels for whipping hands on.
  15. As a 100% fishing boat then no, now your being daft. @Gordmac however is after a boat that he can use for, cruising, entertaining AND fishing. This boat does it all. And is plenty big enough and comfy enough for 3-4 to fish on.
  16. I’m sorry but I do believe you are talking out of your arse. It may not be suitable for where you fish, but it’s absolutely fine for where I fish or I’m sure in Scotland where Gordon fishes.
  17. Not for fishing here?? Are you mad? Of course it’s ok for fishing. Why would it not be, have you not seen the rod holders on it? It has a big deck for fishing, and a door to hide behind when it gets cold and nasty. It also has cushions.
  18. A lot of boat for the money.... https://mccmarine.co.uk/boats-for-sale/beneteau-antares-9-80-2/
  19. @JonC and @Geoff can you please stop ruining Gords thread. Thanks
  20. Yea Martin, I agree whole heartedly with that. We looked at one and discounted it for our own needs because of that. However, if @Gordmacisnt a fishing nut like most of us then it could be perfect for his needs. Especially when the bifold doors are opened right up, it really does then bring the outside inside.
  21. Oh don’t be a humour nerd too ffs. I unveiled the perfect joke, just admit it.
