  1. Geoff just appreciates good old fashioned humour.
  2. Paddy and Mick are working at the local sawmill. One day, Mick slips and his arm gets caught and severed by the big bench saw Paddy quickly puts the limb in a plastic bag and rushes it and Mick to the local hospital. Next day, Paddy goes to the hospital and asks after Mick. The nurse says, Oh he's out in Rehab exercising'. Paddy couldn't believe it, but here's Mick out the back exercising his now re-attached arm. The very next day he's back at work in the saw mill. A couple of days go by, and then Mick slips and severs his leg on another bloody big saw. So Paddy puts the limb in a plastic bag and rushes it and Mick off to hospital. Next day he calls in to see him and asks the nurse how he is. The nurse replies, 'He's out in the Rehab again exercising'. And sure enough, here's Mick out there doing some serious work on the treadmill. And very soon Mick comes back to work. But, as usual, within a couple of days he has another accident and severs his head. Wearily Paddy puts the head in a plastic bag and transports it and Mick to hospital. Next day he goes in and asks the nurse how Mick is. The nurse breaks down and cries and says, 'He's dead.' Paddy is shocked, but not surprised. 'I suppose the saw finally did him in.' 'No', says the nurse. 'Some dopey bastard put his head in a plastic bag and he suffocated'.
  3. I hope you weren’t supposed to be at work? 🤣 Very pretty boat.
  4. Welcome Lee, glad you found the forum alright ! If you've got some tales to tell or advice to pass on, we are all willing to hear it! We are all friends here, enjoy the banter and the site mate👍🏻
  5. @Gordmac How about something outside the box? https://www.theyachtmarket.com/en/boat-for-sale/1853573/
  6. I have a starfisher 840, for the hull it’s not underpowered. Mine does 24knts which is pretty good for a 4 tonne boat on a single shaft.
  7. Ok that’s fine, the reason I showed those was just to get an idea. What your preferred style is and maybe show something you’ve not come across or thought about. Botnia tar gas can be had at your budget or around it but you’ll be looking at much older boats. What age is too old for you? As an example... https://www.yachtworld.co.uk/boats/1990/targa-25-2997043/ @Andy135 has experience of purchasing from the channel isles if you need questions answered.
  8. Is he the guy that don’t like taking cash today offers?
  9. That would be taking tackle tarting to a whole new level🤣
  10. Well not a problem if your saying it won’t hang around long, or are you talking out of your opinion (little thread cross there)! 🤣
  11. Your loaded mr two boats. Why not snap it up then sell it to @Jon cook then.
  12. Yeah.......like you expected any different! 👅
  13. No Steve it’s not just you. But I don’t think it’s lockdown either. Just Victor Meldrew syndrome. I find the older I get the less tolerant I become. At your age I’m surprised you've held out so long. 🤣
  14. That sounds better because I have no rails only wooden gunwel tops
  15. 800 litre fuel tanks, so got good range. Great for entertaining, just small enough for single handed use and good for fishing too. https://www.yachtworld.co.uk/boats/2003/starfisher-32-3539679/ https://www.apolloduck.co.uk/boat/starfisher-840-for-sale/610934 https://www.apolloduck.co.uk/boat/aquastar-pacesetter-27-for-sale/647533 Now this is a lot of boat for not a lot of money. Well within budget and bullet proof engines on shafts. https://www.rightboat.com/gb/boats-for-sale/bimax/genesi-930/rb180595
  16. And are you open to different styles or is the rodman style the preference? And are you prepared to travel? If so how far? Obviously UK only limits your choice.
  17. Thanks Martin. After watching that I’d say my choice was pretty good. Some of those cutters were quite away from the prop hub though. My fitting instructions said around 4mm from the prop.
  18. @Gordmac I’ve just re read this thread and I didn’t see a mention of budget?
  19. Sorry Steve no I don’t. I can take one next time I’m down there, but the whole thing was coated in grease today. Along with the shaft and prop.
  20. Well the blurb said it was ultra sharp and gave a constant cutting edge as opposed to a aerated edge that could be prone to damage. And believe me the thing is sharp.
  21. Yeah there will be charges, but people wouldn’t do it if was not worth while. There are people that import jobs for people for a living. Bit like a middle man. Might be worth looking into and asking a few questions. Of course you’d have to find the right boat then go take a look at it when travel allows. It was just an idea to get a boat maybe you can’t find over here.
