  1. Thanks Steve, shit it is. I won’t know the extent for a few days so I’ll try not to stress it too much until then. If I have to go through insurance I will but I’d rather not.
  2. Thanks Martin. Even if its a patch up for this season then dry out proper mid September.. no way can i be without a boat for the summer, still need an escape.
  3. Not sure yet Luke. Its a waiting game for a few days.
  4. Nuffink But a submerged log or any heavy floating debris just under the water could have done it. or its just a stress crack from the thruster tunnel?? Ill never know..
  5. I dont think so, the crack is on the port side where as I list slightly to starboard. It’s lucky I noticed it before another season went on. No signs of blistering so I’m hoping for the best.
  6. You need a covered area to be able to do that though which he don’t have.
  7. Ok so another problem has arisen on Tarlach Too, one that could potentially eat up a good chunk of my season. I have a bleeding bow thruster tube. A small crack around the tube has been bleeding salt water gradually for a while since I had her lifted two weeks ago. I thought it would dry up but it hasn’t and shows no sign of slowing. so, I’ve had a specialist look at it today and it seems that the crack (which was filled supposedly 18 months ago) has been drawing in water and through capillary action worked about 4-5 inches along the hull. This has to be ground out and checked to find the extent of the damage. Then on the keel there is an old hole where the prop guard used to attach. This again was filled but is also bleeding, so a fair amount of water could still be present. The bow thruster surprisingly is not the worst of the two. He reckons the keel could be a 4 month summer lay up, strip back and allow the hot weather to dry it out. FFS
  8. Agree with this Steve. Nobody in nobody out should be the way. Except for food and materials import and export. Oh and some dingy people of course.
  9. Well done on keeping the rods from getting dusty. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Just to expand slightly on Pete’s all too brief invitation..... The venue for our 2021 boat and fishing meet will be Mercury yacht harbour on the Hamble river in Hampshire near Southampton, for those that don’t know it. The idea is to have a social weekend of fishing, beer, BBQ and general fun. The chosen tide is a neap over that weekend with a Saturday low of around Mid day and high water approx 18.30. So a comp on Saturday between say 9-6pm. Then back to the marina for a wash down of the boats and bbq starting around 7.30pm (Or depending on numbers and what people want to do, we could take a boat or two into Hamble village and visit a couple of pubs). Drink Beer and wine. Sunday we can either have a social fish or people go home it’s all easy. Mercury yacht harbour has a large secure car park for those who will be trailering their boats down, overnight moorings can be arrange if wanted or put your boats back on the trailer. Let me know in the other thread. Right next door to Mercury’s there is Badnam creek where a decent slipway can be used for launch and retrieve. I’d recommend if possible people arrive Friday evening, just to make the Saturday morning not so hectic, but this can be discussed further later! Get your names down and let’s look forward to a good weekend hopefully!
  11. Yea MDL Mercury yacht harbour. So freedom berthing not a problem.
  12. You’ll need a mooring Martin? And would you come Friday night and leave Sunday afternoon ?
  13. We have only 9 votes on this so far. I know Pete will be along later to give more details of a proposed plan. But in the mean time can all those who are interested please add your name, boat name and how you intend arriving ie either by trailered boat or by water to the separate thread I’ve started and pinned. This then gives us a chance to start getting an idea of what preparations are required with the marina. thanks
  14. 5/10 not a bad first effort but must try harder.
  15. That’s a proper pisser. Sorry to hear your having such troubles. I take it a sea trial wasn’t done then? At least it’s happened at a time when it’s not great to go boating anyway!
  16. That’s because your old enough to know who he is!
