  1. Yes the thruster is worth it’s weight. However, I do feel that because they were not designed for them, the extra weight causes her to sit bow heavy when moored up. I take it you’ve not noticed a front list on your ST?
  2. No I didn’t. My locker is not deep enough to take a big cone. Just how big is @GPSguru ‘s big plug ?
  3. I have considered this, but as you know I’m a bit nose heavy and I worry this will make it worse.
  4. No I had enough rope, I did it because the rope I did have was not feeding through the gypsy well enough. So I decided to go to smaller plaited rope and chain so that it would fall better into the anchor locker. It didn’t work.
  5. That one doesn’t exactly Rollot off the tongue Steve. You must try harder or you’ll feel the Heat.
  6. I’m Adelost to see why you don’t just join in?
  7. I went down to 6mm and 10mm rope. I still have that old set up. The other I’m getting rid of was from my Parker.
  8. Cheese strings are getting harder to come up with you know!
  9. You’d be feta off deleting this lot.
  10. Sat at my house I have 20m 8mm chain spliced to approx 110m 12mm tope. It’s spare. £70 it’s yours im in Southampton
  11. Don’t bother with the blue stuff. It’ll frei and tangle like you wouldn’t believe.
  12. You will want atleast 3-4 times the depth you’ll fish in for rope and double the length of your boat in chain. 6mm chain will do and 10mm rope. If you can afford it get 8 plaite rope. It stows away neater in the buckets. A 7kg anchor set up on an Alderney rig would be my preferred weight. 60-100 feet is the normal I fish in, in and around the solent. So I’d say a minimum of 100m of rope. You may well not need that much but better to have it for the odd occasion you may.
  13. Lovely St. They are very solidly built. I love mine and it’s probably the first boat I e had that has had me wanting to keep it for a long period of time. you can see my 840 below in the section.
  14. You guys really should stop with the crap jokes. They are whey to cheesy. They’ve just gone off.
  15. Well done that man. Have you had a chance to try it out in anger since repair?
  16. Thought you’d appreciate that one. The heady days of Santa pod eh Steve!
  17. Did I ? I don’t recall that Martin. Thanks though 👍🏻 Had you been on previous trips?
  18. Last August I was lucky enough to attend a 5 day trip to this place in Norway https://skjervoy-fiskecamp.com/Aktuelt What an excellent place it was, the fishing more than the accommodation tbf, but it was all that was needed. Some excellent fish were caught including a 200lb+ halibut, which fell to one of the PBSBAC members. @Maverickand @MegaByte both know him very well. I’m surprised they've not persuaded him to visit us yet! Any way, my best fish was an 88lbr, it was an exhausting trip but well worth the effort! Highly recommended.
