  1. I suppose it depends on how far from any help you will be and how food your comms will be should anything go wrong. I don’t think an additional 25-30kg for an auxiliary would make that much difference.
  2. Nope...... anybody can google the fault codes Ian. But experience (which the guy on this video obviously doesn’t have) is key to this fault. Because the 0.01% fault where it’s not the gas valve is the real question here.
  3. The most you can do is get a decent engineer to do a full mechanical inspection and sea trial. Get the oil analysed too. if oil is not containing metal shavings and the engine runs well and at correct temps etc then you be done what you can and the choice is then yours.
  4. Ok I will endeavour to pop in there Friday afternoon. Lee Marlo (LM marine) used to service my outboards and does now service @Andy135’s engine. Lee’s a good engineer.
  5. I can go see it for you if you want, before you travel. Just incase it’s a dog made to look good! It’s only 5 mins from my door.
  6. You are welcome. When you travelling to see it?
  7. Ok cool so subtle spam does work!
  8. Thanks for the intro Pete. Most of us are just part time leisurely boat fisherman who are more than happy catching dog fish ( @Andy135 ) and the like. Nothing quite as interesting as your fishing but we love it all the same. Your very welcome here and we hope you enjoy and don’t get easily offended. May I ask for marketing purposes how you came across us? Neil
  9. Not a book, just an article in our articles section.
  10. If you can find one of these for sale (not sure if this one is) then you can’t go far wrong. All the power and economy of out drives but without the outdrives. excellent build quality too. https://boats.waa2.com/detail?id=ebc2899a1e7f5e74c60ff356c5c42cc6&q=viking marin 285
  11. @jonnyswamp, Vaillant F28,F29 and F54 = ???
  12. Can’t you as a site Admin at least make the effort to post up straight pictures. What kind of example are you setting the kids?
  13. Well then that’s fair enough if the insurance want it. You will definitely learn something, especially taking wind AND tide movement into the mix. Enjoy and let us know how it goes. Now, about my other two questions...
  14. What are you going to view Jon? Have you read my boat buying guide? It’s just like the bible you know! As for PBL2, I’ve not bothered to do it. Unless your going to advance to your day skippers course Or your insurance is a few quid cheaper I don’t see the point. Unless, you’ve never owned a boat before and this is your first time at ownership.
  15. £250 is a fair price. maximum engine rating is 80hp for them. So you may use a little more in the way of fuel running with a 60. However with just you or two it’s probably not that much difference. Maybe upgrade to the 80 next year?
  16. Mark’s yard is not the easiest to find. When you turn into the farms lane, travel to the end of the drive and it’s right there. Looks like a commercial unit. Which it is.
  17. Your coming behind Geoff ?? Ok, why you to do in your bubbles is up to you I suppose .
