  1. Yes but he writes in some weird alien language. Are you able to translate? welcome to our forum. please put up an intro post !
  2. I wouldn’t bring the anchor in at the side. No way I’m having 20m of chain smacking up the side.
  3. How do you find it getting the bouy off when the anchor reaches the pulpit. I believe you have a bottle nose at the front line I do?
  4. Well yes, it did make for an interesting talking point. However a puddle of ice on the worktop is probably not the best idea for over winter.
  5. Depending on the bow roller set up I suppose.
  6. Yes but even then you can hold the anchor and lower until clear.
  7. I had a spare day today. I contemplated a cheeky single handed session off the bramble bank or the south side of the solents north channel. The mrs needed me to take nipper to school though so that put paid to catching the tide. So I went to the boat and fitted my oil catch can. I’ve had it a couple of weeks but didn’t get an opportunity to fit it. So here it is in all its glory. I also dislocated my hip, which then allowed me to gain access to the chineseespacher and re route the air intake pipe. another couple of jobs ticked off the list. Oh, and I squirted some silicone around my deck light cable, as the old silicone had peeled away, and water was dripping into the wheel house walls and running out of the saloon light when I accelerated .
  8. If your using an Alderney ring then you are launching and recovering by hand no? So why would your anchor snag the ties in the roller? Just be a bit more careful perhaps?
  9. I have considered though whether it’s viable to Alderney ring to save the winch when single handed. And then use the winch once the anchor has risen to the top.
  10. I use normal 8mm cable ties. About 4 of them. I say i do, what I mean is I did when I used to Alderney ring it. Now I just winch the beast up .
  11. Hi Andy as @Andy135has mentioned, if you just crop the original photo by a mm and then save, it will cure the issue. lovely boat btw. Have you caught much from it?
  12. Blimey. Hope the driver was found ok. Fool edited to say... I didn’t read the words
  13. Thanks for the great report John. Sounds like a good day at sea to me. Who cares if the cod didn’t show up? A nice fat dab and a wink from a seal could put most days to shame. All followed up by a stew! Hope there were dumplings?👍🏻
  14. IRISH ALZHEIMER'S Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday and the priest almost fell down when he saw him. He'd never been to church in his life. After Mass, the priest caught up with him and said, "Murphy, I am so glad ya decided to come to Mass. What made ya come?" Murphy said, "I got to be honest with you Father, a while back, I misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn had a hat just like mine and I knew he came to church every Sunday. I also knew that he had to take off his hat during Mass and figured he would leave it in the back of the church. So, I was going to leave after Communion and steal McGlynn's hat." The priest said, "Well, Murphy, I notice that ya didn't steal McGlynn's hat. What changed your mind?" Murphy replied, "Well, after I heard your sermon on the 10 Commandments I decided that I didn't need to steal McGlynn's hat after all." With a tear in his eye the priest gave Murphy a big smile and said, "After I talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' ya decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in hell, he?" Murphy slowly shook his head. "No, Father, after ya talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I left my hat.
  15. As I remember it, you normally DONT set out to catch them. It’s normally a cry of joy when you catch one to save a blank again. #justclearingthisupsotosaveconfusionofothers
  16. If your wanting it for emergency re entry only and not for actually bathing off of in the summer then this could be used. https://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/2848479105345771586?lsf=seller:1480401,store:12404573739981347815&prds=oid:124445355207112999&q=emergency+boarding+ladder&hl=en-gb&ei=qJbEX_rgErOChbIP2NSaqA0&lsft=gclid:EAIaIQobChMI_7rtntep7QIVybTtCh36BARBEAQYCyABEgKGtfD_BwE
  17. They used to wheelie great once rocked off the centre stand.
  18. Cheers, I had to help brake the bottom suction, but once the fish was off the floor it was all his own work. I just stood there like a proud dad and watched.
