There are oil charts that you can compare the ‘ingredients’ of oils. It may be worth googling one and then cross referencing a couple against the quicksilver stuff . Some of the specialist oils are advertised with a special ingredient, but I reckon it’s a con. bit like washing machines live longer with calgon....... they don’t

I found this surprise a couple of weeks ago when I went to warm the engine in readiness for an oil change. At first it appeared to just be the exhaust gasket ... But after removal, I scrapped a piece of black carbon off and it exposed a hole in the housing... After many phone calls and high quotes ranging from £1700 - £2450 + vat for a new oem turbo, I managed to find a Turbo specialist who has welded, refurbished and painted the old one to look like new. And with a 1 year warranty. This will be collected on Friday morning. Pics of the newish unit to follow !
