  1. I forget the author, but this one always stuck with me... "Oh come with me, To the rolling sea, While the weather's calm and still. And we'll have some fun and laughter with The Adventures of Portland Bill."
  2. Thanks Steve, and this backing track is a condensed version Leo's guitar teacher did for him. Shaved 4 mins off.
  3. @Herbs73 I think it depends on what type of fishing you do as to whether you need lever drag or not. I fish with both lever and star, I don't really see too much advantage to a lever if I'm honest. A star drag is just as easy to adjust, very rarely do you need to lock up a reel with the lever. @Andy135 likes them because of the fight some of his bullhuss give! But for most normal fishing (tope included) a decent make of star drag is fine.
  4. Think you've answered your own question Malc!
  5. You don't have many spots then Jon!
  6. @Herbs73 Nice to see you get out after such a long absence. thanks for sharing and well done on the catches!
  7. That's better Jon. Top effort. I'd love to get stuck into a marlin. Or anything into double figures over here would be nice. Can't believe there was no toffee popcorn though, but sweet is still better than salty!!
  8. Nah, it's all waffle. Nobody is mad enough to go to a fish market for two years before work, just to catch a fish!
  9. Nice one Jon. And thanks for sharing a report with us!! 👍🏻
  10. The issue I can see with the design of that boat is that if you did go up the front it looks like it would tip up at the back, because there is no support under the front for a couple of feet.
  11. I'm confused because one moment they can't then they can, what's going on....🤗
  12. @Andy135 can you please expand on your comment about traditional shaped tenders not being "nosed" in?
  13. Do You have a larger boat too or is it just the dingy? If it's just the dingy then I'd say minimum 3rd party insurance. However, in the event your engine falls off the transom whilst fitting or removing and it takes a swim, then you'd wish you had fully comp. If you have a larger boat, list the dingy and outboard as part of that boats insurance. But as @Andy135 says, there is no need by law.
  14. I think it's more to do with pilotage in and out of the port rather than powers over the vessel.
  15. The vessel would need to be registered with its home port authority.
  16. I don't think that is 100% accurate. There is a maximum length that once over that the vessel needs registering. A super yacht is a pleasure craft, and they need registering. So there is a size limit, I'm just not 100% sure what it's is. All I know is that it's not needed for any boat any of us could afford!
  17. This advice is good practise too. Although if you don't have a VHF license and you use one in an emergency, nobody is going to fine you or cart you off to jail! Id still recommend you do it however.
