  1. The proportion of fish caught on TT is down to the skipper!!
  2. Not when you're doing it on your own it's not!!
  3. Or fun, or sense of adventure, or sense of achievement or solitude and relaxation!!! it's a crap idea and @Odyssey should hang his head!!
  4. It's 4-5 years I think. Order now!
  5. @Andy135 maybe you should liberate @Geoff from his Fenline? At least the boat may see water that way!!
  6. Yep big cod is defo the quarry. My biggest is 15lb from roughly the area we fished yesterday and around the same time of year. A friend of mine consistently catches 3-4 codling in September . He always seems to be in the right place at the right time, but can't get another for the rest of the winter. He went out yesterday and caught just 2 dog fish in 6 hours. It's weird how it goes sometimes. LSt winter Leo and I caught 2 both in January. In the Solent that's pretty unheard of.
  7. That's ok. Hopefully the implants took root as planned??
  8. With a weather window on the cards Leo and I hatched a plan to have a go at the Solent cod. We contacted @Andy135 to see if he wanted to join us, but he decided to get his hair done instead and blame the wife!! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Tarlach Too slipped the mooring at 8am and made a quick 20 minute journey to the Bramble bank, we fished south of the bank just out side Cowes harbour in 16.5m. Not massive tides Saturday so 10oz of lead was all that was required. There were plenty of whiting about, nothing massive. Biggest went to about 30cm. We had a few double hook ups. Leo had a nice little strap and we had plenty of dogs. One even had a weird circular patch of spotted skin on its belly. Just like it had had a skin graft. No cod, but we ended with 12 whiting, 10 dogs and a strap. But to be fair it was just lovely to be out in a beautiful sunny November day. Sea temp was 13.8 deg, which is maybe why the cod have not turned up yet?? Anyway, I caught more fish than the boy so that's all that counts!! Leo cuddling the heater outlet. Oh and a crab..
  9. I thought the reasoning behind selling JG and buying a rib was so that you could pull the kids in over the soft sides easier, and hence get them more interested and involved in boating? Has this been forgotten amongst the plethora of choice in the sweet shop?
  10. @thejollysinker has just haD a grandit, and all you can do is talk about polishing???
  11. Could you not have taken "it" with you?? Congrats by the way grandpa!! 👍🏻
  12. Yeah wee know yore not shore tu!
  13. Trouble is, the older I get the less likely I am to go out if it's cold too. I don't mind a brisk wind in the summer, it's sometimes quite welcome. But in the winter months, no fanks. Doesn't matter what boat you're on, if it's feckin cold, it's feckin cold.
  14. It's not the boats, it's the location I reckon. We can take TT out in some foul weather if we wanted to. But anchor in the Solent in a strong 4-5 SW in the Solent and even the bigger boats would give up due to the Solent chop. Was due to go out tomorrow, but the strong NW wind has put paid to that. Normally a N wind is welcomed , but with residue chop from the last few days it'll still be uncomfortable.
  15. Ive just handed in my resignation!!
  16. Leo and I will be out for a short 5 hr sesh on Saturday. Got a dinner with friends in the evening so won't be out late, or I'll just wanna go sleep!
