  1. Buy a new tohatsu 2 stroke through your wife's company and claim back the vat!!
  2. Well yeah, I did say that. Buying 2nd hand engines is a dodgy business. You've been warned 🤣
  3. Or if you don't want to spend as much..... https://www.cambridgeoutboards.co.uk/acatalog/75HP-Mercury-Long-Shaft-Electric-Start-Power-Trim-2-Stroke-Remote-Control-Outboard-Motor-U33.html#SID=119
  4. Just go buy a new 60hp tohatsu. An extra £1500 I think they are! well, ok maybe a bit more than that. But still worth going for a brand new engine over an unknown old used POS. https://www.billhigham.co.uk/product/tohatsu-60hp-efi-4-stroke-outboard-electric-start-remote-control-power-tilt-trim-long-shaft-mfs60aetl-motor-engine/
  5. Nice fish there @JDP👍🏻 Bet the young bucks are pleased as punch to land them (or is it a case of been there done that)? Ive got an older shimano travel rod and they are excellent rods! I don't think shimano make anything "bad" at any price range.
  6. Never been opened. Will need a service/check. £150
  7. Hope you are going to write a separate detailed report for this lot Jon??
  8. If that was all from one rig it no wonder that they didn't catch much. Probably threw it in the surf in frustration!
  9. That's west Cowes with the moon over gurnard!
  10. For a couple of hours around 12-2pm we were approx..
  11. Good job we didn't cancel our plans and head west then!!
  12. Leo, @Andy135 and I had second attempt at catching cod on Tarlach Too yesterday (Saturday in case you're reading this on Monday). The first attempt turned out to be a comedy of errors which resulted in no fishing whatsoever from 2 boats! Too long a story to go into ! Any way we set off at 12pm and the plan was to fish into the dark and return at 10pm. Which we did. However, before we even left the mooring Leo decided to throw down his gauntlet by landing a nice 4.5lb bass on his first Chuck of the spinning gear. That was pretty much the highlight of the day. We caught a few fish, but the tide was sooooo big it seemed like nobody on the bottom was really feeding. A couple of small conger, a few dogs, a nice pout for Leo and not a lot for me. But as usual, I'm all about making the trip the best I possibly can for the guests. No selfishness on my boat. I did however catch the fish of the day (in weight anyhow), around 8-9lb. Andy had the biggest LSD I've ever seen, it was so big it even made his arms look short 🙄 That really was about it. We returned in the dark to the mooring just before 10pm. A good day had, but as always more fish would have been better. Thanks Andy for the good company again! 👍🏻
  13. @LostPiker what about the other guy that @Odyssey suggested? Chris Smith at North Tyne Marine.
  14. Sharrow tech team emailed me yesterday after I enquired (just out of boredom) if they did a shaft drive version. They said no and that they only make main stream props for outboards. But, if I wanted to get one designed to match my original prop then they would be happy to do it for me, starting with a chat over the phone to gain some info on use of boat, speeds and what I'd like to achieve, ie less fuel, better low speed planning or higher wot speeds. This sounded great, and all for the measly sum of approx $35-70K !!!
