Saintly Fish reacted to Malc in Beautiful evening fishing
The river would have been fine on the kayak but the bar and outside was a snotty chop due to wind against tide, might go out later on the kayak though.

No on my friends boat. The only thing missing was a few leaping dolphin

Tried for herring but not one, plenty of mackerel including big chunky ones, pollock, pouting, weever, whiting and a dab and a wonderful sunset and simultaneous moonrise.
Fantastic.

Saintly Fish reacted to Odyssey in And we’re off….
Nice day Monday…. Sunshine and fish….
Seems we are getting a different class of fish in different areas. This lot would be perfect for popping… maybe next year I’ll get a popping set up to try… 🤔
@JDP I may need your advice as resident blue water expert on a set up that doesn’t break the bank!

Saintly Fish got a reaction from daio web in Mackerel sizes...
Not quite 40cm but @Andy135 and I did have a couple of chunky ones the other week, also some real small ones that were perfect live bait size!

Can I ask why you want such slow boats? I'm not endorsing speed merchants but a 6knot plodder will get tiring real quick, just ask @mike farrants (although he'll never admit it).

Cheers guys. Yes Andy, it was satisfying that despite the headf*ck maths on a Sunday night, it came out as intended. Would I do it again, yes, but different setup for sure. This is exactly why I bought a manual mill, to learn all this kind of setup on, then later, if I can justify it, a coversational CNC.
Thanks Saintly, yes, chamfers would make it look truly pro, but currently don't have a chamfer tool. At about £90 plus inserts, it might be a while before I do!!

Sent them an email so lets see what happens. Got to admit it ticks all the boxes.

Saintly Fish reacted to Malc in Spanish flavoured ling
Not totally sure as I've only baked bass and cod and ling are meaty and keep their shape but it should work as bass is fairly firm, just smaller flakes

That looks delicious, will that work with bass too do you reckon?

Sounds like you'd be looking for a semi-displacement hull, rather than a displacement hull such as the Colvics then. These tend to have speed and stability together.

Is this a good bench mark??
