  1. Not sure. I've seen all the small engines known brands without the cowlings and they are totally different. Blocks, heads, carbs and all bits and bobs are different. And yes, that's interesting that Yamaha can be stored in any way apart from upside down ðŸĪŠ
  2. Thanks for your answers guys. Yes, am OK with stripping carbs and stuff like that so will replace the sparkplug first and then will see how it behaves. It's a nice engine with super low hours and its annoying to see it not working as it should. Its been stored correctly. 2010 and up Yamahas can be stored on each side so small risk to get into a problems.
  3. Nope mate, nothing. What would you suggest before I shall start stripping the carb out?
  4. Before fireing up the engine I've drained all old fuel till last drop from whole fuel system inc carb, emptied the internal tank and put a fresh petrol.
  5. Hey! I've starded today my aux engine 5hp Yamaha after couple months of storage. It runs well on iddle and 1/2 throttle but at about 3/4 to max runs rough and sometimes chokes but does not stall. It looks like fuel deposit in carb so maybe jet needs to be cleaned? What do you think?
  6. Recently I bought a 6 and 8 oz cannon ball style mould with 50 swivels and 50 loops. ÂĢ22 on ebay. The mould does the job perfect. I've never bought a single lead, aleays making them because I find it super relaxing and reminds me making keads with my dad when I was a kid.
  7. Yeah, it sounds absolutely right mate. So, next time I will be doing that in a proper way.
  8. I did it couple of times (2-3 hours each time) but had the rope attached to side of the boat. Guessing it is not a good idea right?

    Ahoy!

I'm not totally newby to conger fishing. I've never cought one myself but was out with people that targeted them and even helped to land them. I have a decent rods and reels with proper line and 100lb rigs with steel traces. The thing is that I wasn't interested in targeting this kind of species before but now its my goal and it MUST be just me and my boat - not mates etc... Hope you are getting what I mean 😂 Anchoring Harry's would be tricky, its close to the main ship road to Swanage, Weymouth, Portland so it's always busy as hell.

I fish Harry's a lot, usually for bream never for conger. Can't wait for next day out haha ðŸĪŠ

Thanks Andy! Not much rough ground in Poole Bay I think. Some rocks here and there, one rock called Poole Patch but I've lost tones of gear there so not happy to go there again haha!
