I'm off to see a Pilot 4 tomorrow, nearly new so engine (100hrs, 1 yr old), boat and trailer are warrantied still, which is somewhat re-assuring for a newbie. They wont take me for a spin in it as its not insured or moored anywhere so it will be a look on the driveway. Seems you can idle the Tohatsu MFS40A EPTL as long as its got a healthy water supply from muffs, bucket or the dedicated flushing hose port so I expect they will do one of these. Anything I should look out for beyond - a strong telltale pee, smooth idle, no smoke etc? Steering working, no bumps or dings in the hull, no cracks in the floor or GRP anywhere (its described as immaculate). I guess the trailer winch needs checking its secure and the wheel bearings aren't wobbly/seized.
How many sets of keys would you expect to get?
Thanks
Rog
Speak to Jim (Tiddler ) on PBSBAC, he had a Pilot 4 and a Warrior165

What's the waiting time at cobbs atm?
Supposedly full, but everytime I go visit there are empty berths.
problem is cheap pontoon (F at the far end ) is used to hold boats waiting to go on other pontoons,
but got plenty of fettling to do on boat that is best done on dry land so will just wait.

Waiting for new windows and berth to be available,

Personally I always use a mono leader
How do you connect to braid, I was thinking of using a swivel and 2ft of mono.

Hi all,
going to try slow pitch jigging fo the first time, using braid and want to know if I need to use a short mono leader.
or do I use braid straight through using 17kilogram on a multi.
Cheers Mick.

Even though Poole is one of the largest natural harbours in the world it only has 1 public slip,
summer launching is a pain place is full of jetskies.

we were hoping to get out tomorrow as the forecast was fair at the beginning of the week - but 15mph SE is straight into the bay and borderline - so will see how it looks later.
Sunday looks better but i'm off to see the other half play in the first round of the Womens FA CUP - Weymouth ladies have performed very well in the early rounds beating opposition in leagues above them - now they face Keynsham at home (Bob Lucas stadium) on saturday - and make history for the club - i'm so proud i'm giving up a days fishing to go along. i know sport isn't everyone's cup of tea, but its a very special moment for her!
I`m not a football person, but best of luck.
