Problem is they were both crap.

When we had Explorer Elite it porpoised like the 165s ,fitted smart trim tabs ,problem solved,faster on to plane .

I have used Porthcawl Ins for years , reasonably priced and easy to deal with.

Never had to make a claim but not heard of any problems.

Striker in no a proper gps plotter I would need gpsmap as it accepts an sd card but they only do 6.5 or 4in, I want one in middle.

so am looking at Lowrance,

Not sure about Raymarine as never had one or seen one working.

Garmin come with maps and no transducer, Lowrance come with transducer but no maps,I allready have Lowrance transducer.

Raymarine come with both transducer and maps.

After buying boat not much money left and so much still to buy.

going to put on bracket,but console is only a bit wider than a steering wheel.

just bought a XS500 rib and have not got a lot of room on console,

5-5 i/2 in is really about as big as can go,

but dont want to go too small that I cant read it.

Already have Lowrance 8 pin transducer if needed.

Hi Andy. had a rib with too deep a v so not very stable ,but great fun in the rough.

looking at ribs with a shallower v so a better platform to fish from.

No boat at the moment.
