  1. Noticed these worn fittings - look like poor mans Railblaza sockets - Emailed Railblaza they say nono you poor fool we don’t know it they is but if you measure we will sell you sumfing the same size ish so you don’t make more holes. https://imgur.com/a/30QXRou Does that link work? Trying to make the world a better place why would have rod holders so far back on the boat - anyone familiar with worn out holes care to comment? Edit: the surface mount fitting in the pictures is next to the high end 1” 1/2 rod holders
  2. Scaffold pole tubes then, so fussy. 😃
  3. For your entertainment. Day off work yesterday Up at 5 Packed Bait Drove 1hr 45minutes Bit more bait Remembered as I arrived I forgot key for boat Anyone else or just a me thing?
  4. You can day trade shares or basically bet things go up or down in a certain time frame - it’s high risk high reward. Have a look at the IG Trading platform. Have a look at the Bogleheads sub Reddit they’re into investing for long haul so don’t bother if you’re not 30-40 but it’s never too late. Think they use a principle of maximum 3 pot investment low medium and higher risk. S&P (SPY) is making 20% returns over the last year or so, basically an amalgam of 500 top performing companies, buy shares in that for long term. There are others similar at cheaper price point.
  5. Now you’re talking - bricks and mortar - roughly what area of Uk is the flat in?
  6. This is great - very useful thank you! Now where did I put my cannon pears ? 🤔 Turbot - dream fish yet to catch Skate - I am not referring to the loch monsters but east coast blondes commons thornies
  7. Oh balls. Well like shore fishing I was hoping for just a simple rig or two like the nice captain of the charter boats gives us numpties when we use his gear. I suppose around my way and distance offshore - to begin with - I’ll be mostly looking at skate, with the usual by-catch of whiting /doggies. Cod/codling are a long forgotten memory.
  8. Long term suffer of Crohns/Colitus here am on Methotrixate tablets and Adalimumab injections. Don’t know if you have looked into diet but the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) has helped me in the past. It’s quite hardcore and there is a period of adjustment- cravings - for carbs. Glad you are sharing as its one of those hidden illnesses and while I have so many - - shit my pants in public humorous stories - that I do have to laugh about - running to the toilet can be embarrassing as a grown up. Get that inflammation down and kept in check - good luck 💪🏼
  9. Morning all Need to make up some boat rigs as have only got shore rigs made up - like some of you just use pulley penal and two hook slappers Is this a good version to make up? With two hooks or one, and they are using mono not amnesia Feels like fishing 101 again but use flat weights not grippers?
  10. Gingham? I won’t be sitting down much and at some point might be getting some of them jolly stripy foldy swivel seats not catching fish while fishing sitting on a comfy chair, the dream
  11. Not yet! A little of the Twizzle is all
  12. Bought a cheap bench as have none to park ass. It’s covered in masonry paint and silicone. Will do me for a while till I glass in some boxes/swivels seats Ive spent enough money lately so used what I had around the house mister muscle - no steam iron - no hair dryer/knife blade/sharp scraper - not bad boiling water and pan scourer - yes if your boat ever gets mistaken for a house and someone masonry paints your hull, hot water is your friend.
  13. left handers right wind right handers left wind dominant hand is always on the rod yee canne change t’laws of physics cp’in arrrr
  14. Your bait is like our PB fishy’s
  15. Quite a decent write up here, I had to search for it not being local didn’t know what it was. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hampshire-59067959 They should put something else up in its place, (other than over priced crap housing) towers are great nav aides
  16. It’s like a giant scratching post for the cat fortunately he’s not worked that out. Well trained/shouted at.
  17. Didn’t notice all these replies, had an offer of a Simrad RD68 with those you can link a couple of connections inside the head unit to bring up the mmsi edit option. It’s 10 years old and he wants a oner - where is that optimistic emoji. Following that I decided today I would buy new, £230 ish gets me a Standard Horizon GPS and £400 odd gets me a GPS/AIS version. AIS would be nice to have but £400 sheets is quite a wallop. I’ve got a Dragonfly Pro 7 with Navionics but don’t think that links AIS as overlay.
  18. They weren’t sold as either right or left - fella doesn’t know about them just selling and I bought them without thinking left or right. He will take them back and refund if I want. Or I have odd reels on the boat. I use fix spools for beach casting and have those set for left hand although I’m right handed. Have also bought a left handed Akios multi for beach casting. With boat rods I think they should be right hand wind, or handed to the owners dominant hand. Or, or, if you’re right handed you’d be pulling on the rod with your dominant hand, ooh-er matron, so I conclude it’s left hand wind for right handed people.
  19. Bought a pair of Okuma classics off eBay the other day - starters for the boat. Already have one (in pic with green line) other two turned up - one of them in photo below my old one. EBay one has got the thumb reel rest set for left thumb but reels from left - neither a left hander or a right hander! Edit: Winder can’t be swapped over to other side
  20. What about a small boat such as, let’s say a Strikeliner. Seen this lazy line before, done something similar with the sib and also used a bridle. I’ve got a hatch to stick my head out of - us small boats have all the fun. Basically no matter where I am I’m always on the deck. It’s like a studio flat.
  21. Get pals with the divers and get your rod back that way - not to mention the lead
